Caterpillar Ministries has been spreading the love of Jesus to the families living in the Huntington Green Community in Huntersville NC

Caterpillar Ministries offers programming for the children, adults, and families living in Huntington Green mobile home neighborhood (in Huntersville, NC) — a multiethnic and multicultural under-resourced community. We are a grass-roots nonprofit and non-denominational Christian organization that was founded in 2007. We partner with our neighbors in Huntington Green to experience together the abundant life through Jesus Christ. Caterpillar Ministries supports the well-being of families, as well as nurtures and strengthens God-centered homes.

Through genuine relationships, we serve more than 1200 children and adults through our 4 pillars of care:
* Faith Development
* Academic Enrichment
* Crisis Care
* Advocacy Support

Programs and services include:
Afterschool and summer tutoring
Bilingual preschool program and summer camp
Bible study for adults and Kids Club for K-5th grades
Youth Bible study and small groups
Summer camp
Soccer camp and tournament in July
Free School Supplies — a distribution Day in August that serves nearly 300 children
Family events, including movies, Bingo, ice cream socials
Assistance with rent and utilities
Referrals to Beds for Kids, Lydia's Loft, and Loaves and Fishes.. and so much more. We partner with many local churches, businesses, civic organizations, and other non-profits.

🍼💚 Big love for our tiniest Caterpillars! 🐛

We are SO excited to welcome Baby Bundles as a new Caterpillar Ministries partner!

Last week, our team attended Baby Bundles' New Partner Orientation, and we left with full hearts! 💕

Baby Bundles does so much more than provide essential items for newborns. Each bundle is thoughtfully prepared to bring joy, hope, and a little of that baby shower excitement to new moms who may not otherwise have that experience. 🎁👶

Because every new mom deserves to feel celebrated, supported, and loved. And every baby deserves a beautiful beginning!

We are so grateful for this new partnership and the opportunity to bring even more love and resources to our Huntington Green families and our newest, tiniest Caterpillars! 🐛💚

🌟 The Pursuit of Happiness starts here! 🌟

Our 9th graders are kicking off a 25-week journey of discovering more about God, themselves, and each other! 💙

Week one was all about the power of a positive mindset! Students explored their strengths, identified areas where they want to grow, created personal statements, and practiced sharing them in a safe, encouraging space.

And sometimes, just having the courage to show up, open up, and share is a BIG first step! 💪

We are so grateful for our partnership with Youth Development Initiatives (YDI) and for Mr. Darryl and Mr. Darius, who are pouring their hearts, experiences, and wisdom into these young people.

And a BIG thank you to our students for showing up ready to learn and grow, and to the parents who encourage them and trust us to walk alongside them!

25 weeks. So much potential. And we're just getting started! 🦋💚

💻🎉 Cohort #6 is underway, and THIS is what community looks like!

21 students. 9 hours of learning. 21 opportunities to build digital skills and open new doors! 🙌

We’re thrilled to welcome the Center for Digital Equity and their ConnectTech program back to Huntington Green! This time, we invited students from Angels & Sparrows to join us, and the classroom filled every seat!

After completing 9 hours of basic computer and internet instruction, each student will take home a refurbished laptop provided by E2D (Eliminate the Digital Divide)! 💻❤️

It takes a community to make opportunities like this possible, and we have one!

💚 Catawba Presbyterian Church – for opening your doors and providing our classroom space.

💚 Center for Digital Equity – for bringing the ConnectTech program and wonderful facilitators.

💚 Angels & Sparrows – for bringing your students alongside ours and helping us fill the classroom!

💚 E2D – for providing laptops that allow learning to continue long after class ends.

Four incredible partners. 21 eager learners. One community working together to create opportunity!

This is partnership in action, and we couldn't be more grateful! 🦋

Shoes, smiles, clothes, sweet treats, and a whole lot of love in Huntington Green!

What a wonderful Assurance GO DAY!

Our friends at Assurance UMC brought Matthew’s Community Closet to Huntington Green, and the timing couldn't have been better with cooler weather on the way!

A huge thank-you to El Buen Samaritano for opening their doors and keeping everyone (and all those clothes!) dry!

Hot coffee, sweet treats, and an incredible team of volunteers made shopping a warm and welcoming experience for our families.

And while parents shopped, we got to hang out with some of our littlest caterpillars! Sweet smiles, playtime, and even a few cardboard box adventures made our day!

Assurance UMC's mission is “Growing in Jesus and Going in Service,” and we loved seeing that mission in action right here in our neighborhood.

This is what community looks like. Neighbors showing up, sharing generously, and caring for one another. 💚

WOW! What an incredible example of generosity!

Thanks to a generous donation from InCorp Industries and the efforts of a wonderful Duke Energy team member, Caterpillar Ministries raffled off an unforgettable golf experience at Valhalla Golf Club in Louisville, Kentucky!

And what a prize it was!

⛳ A round of golf for THREE at Valhalla
✈️ $1,500 in flight vouchers
🏨 Hotel accommodations

We promoted the raffle primarily among Duke Energy employees, and we drew the winning ticket at one of their employee events on October 8.

The BIGGEST WIN? We raised nearly $6,000 to support Caterpillar Ministries and the children and families we walk alongside in Huntington Green! 🙌💚

A HUGE thank-you to InCorp Industries, our friends at Duke Energy, and EVERYONE who purchased a ticket! Your generosity is making a difference right here in our community.

And congratulations to our lucky winner! 🏆

🍽️ Wednesday Community Dinners are BACK! 💙

What a beautiful fall evening to gather around the table at Iglesia El Buen Samaritano LFC ()!

There was delicious food, meaningful fellowship, and something new to taste and learn! Pulled pork subs and mac and cheese were on the menu, along with a delicious cabbage soup tasting as Elizabeth from Team Caterpillar introduced The Blue Tablecloth, an initiative in partnership with Healthy Meck that encourages heart-healthy eating through food education and tastings.

We ended the evening with a message from Pastor Charles about Peter stepping out of the boat—a reminder that when we keep our eyes on Jesus, we can find the courage to step out in faith.

It takes a community to bring everyone to the table, and we're grateful! ❤️

50 bags. Every week. All summer long. ❤️

When school ends, so do the breakfasts and lunches many children count on. But hunger doesn't take a summer vacation.

That's where Bags of Hope () steps in!

During the school year, Bags of Hope partners with schools to provide weekend meals for students. And during the summer, they continue working to bridge the gap for children and families.

Every single week this summer, our friend Bob delivered 50 bags of food to Huntington Green! Week after week. What a gift!

Bob is more than a delivery driver. He's a familiar face, a faithful friend, and a reminder of what it means to consistently show up for our neighbors.

Sometimes hope looks like a bag of groceries. And sometimes it looks like Bob pulling up every week.

Our after-school tutoring program for 3rd–5th graders is LIVE and off to a strong start!

We're thankful for every student who shows up ready to work hard, strengthen their reading skills, and grow — and for every volunteer who shows up alongside them to encourage and support them.

We’re grateful for every parent who trusts us with the privilege of walking alongside their child, and for every donor and funder whose generosity makes this program possible.
