It’s hard to believe that it’s been five years since we lost Amy. Her birthday is always the hardest day for many of us since she loved to celebrate her birthday. We miss our friend a little extra today. Amy loved to celebrate her birthday. In honor of Amy’s birthday, please consider donating to the foundation we set up in her name. This day is hard, even three years later. As we mourn the loss of our dear friend, we celebrate her life by telling stories and sharing memories. If you are donating today to the 1842 campaign https://1842day.villanova.edu, be sure to select “YourChoice/Other Area” from the category drop down. On the next screen, you can designate the area you wish to support as “The Amy M. Christoforetti Endowed Scholarship”.

Many companies offer matching gifts. Some prefer for you to donate to a charity like our Foundation, while others prefer for you to donate directly to a university scholarship. Please check with your HR department as we would love your matching gift! Donations directly to the scholarship add to the total value of the scholarship, but do not reduce the Foundation’s commitment to Villanova. Whether you donate to the Foundation or directly to the scholarship, your donation is tax deductible and furthers the mission of the Foundation. Please donate however you can!

Today should be Amy’s 43rd birthday. While Amy isn’t physically here, that doesn’t mean we can’t celebrate her birthday. We got her something extra special this year. We are happy to share that thanks to your generosity, we have established the Amy M. Christoforetti Endowed Scholarship! The work of the Foundation isn’t done yet as we seek to fully fund the Endowment in honor of Amy, but we are thrilled to celebrate this milestone today for her birthday.

Posting about taxes may not get you lots of likes, but don’t forget that your donations to the Amy M. Christoforetti Foundation are deductible when you file your 2021 tax return. The Foundation is recognized by the IRS as a 501(c)(3) organization. Facebook provides donation receipts for all donations made through Facebook. On this , we can’t help but think about Amy. Amy could wear red better than any of us. Please take a minute today and every day to think about your heart health and take care of yourself. Know your risks and talk to your doctors. Let’s honor Amy by supporting not just this Foundation, but the work of the American Heart Association.
