Hope for Hunt was a group of amazing people that came together after volunteering and wanted to do more for the Hunt community. Out of all the tragedy that happened it formed beautiful friendships and relationships between strangers that commonly felt the need to help others. I have gained lifetime friendships with these people and I will always be grateful. I was also very blessed to meet my person. I would like to thank John Barone and the Hunt Volunteer Fire Department for allowing Brock Holland and myself to have our marriage ceremony at the Hunt VFD yesterday. We wanted to get married at the very place that we met. John did a wonderful job and we are honored to have him join us in matrimony. At the end of the wedding he said one thing that I absolutely love, “From disaster to happily ever after!” We are blessed and grateful to have found love in a time we never imagined we would. God bless everyone that has supported us along the way and I am happy to know that good can always come out of bad! 💚

Marissa here! I am currently helping in the Hill Country with Lonestar Guardians Disaster Response. We have been here since Thursday afternoon and will be returning home later today to Salado. Please follow their page for up to date info and for resources.

There really are no words that can be said, other than asking for everyone to pray for those affected in the Hill Country and in South Texas once again by recent flooding. A lot of people from last year‘s floods have reached out to me and asked how they could help. Thankfully, the tragedy of life lost does not compare to last year‘s flood. However, there has been loss. The Hill country still needs our help. Some may say it’s not as bad and we don’t need to go. Let me tell you though that it is bad. Mother nature can cause unfathomable destruction. I witnessed the bad side of humanity firsthand in a natural disaster, but I also witnessed the good. We need to always continue to help others. Please reach out to the communities. You can be the rainbow after the storm!

Today commemorates the anniversary of a pivotal moment that touched and changed many lives. This post is a modest attempt to honor something that is difficult to put into words. Our hearts are with those impacted by the Hill Country Floods today. 💚
