It’s been a little while, but Crossroads has still been busy hosting groups of boys at the ranch for camping, fishing, archery, and more. Our latest camp, though, was a fun twist—we got to welcome a group of amazing girls and their fantastic leaders! They brought so much energy, laughter, and adventure—we loved every second of it!

We are incredibly thankful to our good friend and best campfire cook Tommy Thompson, First Baptist Church Brunet, and Kids Outdoor Zone (KOZ) for sponsoring the weekend. Thanks also goes to Cowboy Pete for sharing his Christ glorifying poetry, and Jeff Steele for being our ever faithful EMT.

Crossroads has a different look. Last year we sold our ranch near Junction and moved to the Kerrville area. Now we have much less acreage and no fencing...none at all! Now we get to enjoy the beauty of the land without sooo much responsibility!

Last weekend we had our first group for Crossroads Ministry incorporating new activities within the new setting. 21 awesome kids were led by 12 amazing leaders as they hiked, fished, had target practices and built an incredible fire pit! They camped out each night, ate delicious meals (thank you Dana and Gary!) around the fire, listened to some great tales from Cowboy Poet Pete and heard about the love of Jesus all weekend long. It was a fun weekend, and we're so blessed to see how this ministry has changed by location, but the purpose of sharing Jesus has not and will never change.

The new season has begun. We are incredibly thankful to all who volunteer their time and prayers to these very deserving young men. Sometimes the guys already know Jesus so in that case the weekend at the ranch is to encourage them, to build them up and share with them God's word in order to help them stand strong in their faith. It is truly heartbreaking to learn the stories of some of these guys, but inspiring to see what they have already overcome. Being able to bring them to the ranch, surround them with with godly men and let them have fun is such a blessing to all of us.

It's a good Sunday afternoon, albeit a very hot one, here at the ranch. Last Sunday was Father's Day. Did you get to celebrate it with your loved one(s)? Not all boys are so fortunate to have a loving father or father figure in their lives. Not all boys have a role model to give them encouragement and guidance in times they need it most.
