Sedona (who is known to our rescue as Paige) has been with her owner Melina Laskey since June 2023. These days, she occasionally enjoys a trail ride, but for the most part, she gets to live her best life! She is surrounded by her friends in the field and lives a relaxed lifestyle.

Although the trauma from her life before the rescue still lingers at times, Sedona has blossomed into such a good girl. She’s come so far from where she started, and it’s been incredible to watch her grow.

Recently, she has been nicknamed “Donut” and has taken on a new little job! She helps with workshops, where kids get to learn about horses, grooming, care, and what it’s like to interact with them. And, of course, she lets them take her for a little “pony” ride!

She may not be a lesson horse in the traditional sense, but she has found her own special way to teach — and she’s pretty darn good at it. 🍩💕

🇺🇸🐴 Horses & Heroes — Veteran Horsemanship Program 🐴🇺🇸

Second Chance Equine Association is proud to offer Horses & Heroes, a 6-week horsemanship program created especially for our veterans.

This is an opportunity to step away from the everyday, spend time with horses, learn horsemanship skills, build confidence, and simply enjoy the peaceful connection between horses and humans. ❤️

📅 Begins September 10th at 5 PM
⏰ 2-hour sessions every Thursday for 6 weeks
👥 Limited to 6 participants per course
💙 FREE for any veteran

No previous horse experience is required—just come ready to learn, connect, share a cup of coffee, and have some fun at the barn!

We are incredibly proud to offer this program and the opportunity to give back to those who have given so much to us. 🇺🇸

…Just like that… it’s the LAST DAY of the Westmoreland Fair! 🎡🐴❤️

What better way to wrap up an amazing week than with Scott and Fancy doing what they do best! From daily demonstrations to showing just how incredible the partnership between horse and human can be, these two have been a highlight of the fair all week.

We’re so grateful for everyone who stopped by, supported Second Chance Equine Association, and spent a little time with us and the horses. 🐴

Come see us for one last day at the fair — we’d love to see you! 🎠🤠❤️

Another special moment at the fair 🤎🐴

There’s just something so special about watching the next generation fall in love with these amazing animals. Moments like this are what the fair is all about — making memories, learning, and spending time with the horses we love. 🐴✨

Come see us at the Westmoreland Fair and make some memories of your own! 🎡🤎
