Gibson County, Humboldt TN (1905) During 1905, Humboldt was a growing agricultural and railroad hub, featuring a thriving downtown with a buggy/harness shop, dry goods stores, and a bakery on Main Street. The Chamber of Commerce was founded in 1905, and the city was served by major railroads, with bustling commercial activity during that era.

In 1934 Humboldt was selected to serve West Tennessee by holding the famous Strawberry Festival, celebrated during the first week in May, one of the states longest-running community festivals, attracting roughly 75,000 people each year. The Strawberry Festival was created to highlight and market the town's primary crop during the Great Depression.

Have you visited the beautiful historic town of Humboldt or attended the Strawberry Festival?

Holy Wednesday-

➕ SPY WEDNESDAY
is the day when Judas betrayed Jesus for thirty pieces of silver. The account of St. Luke 22:1-6 tells us,
Now, the feast of Unleavened Bread drew near, which is called the Passover. And the chief priests and the scribes were seeking how to put him to death; for they feared the people. Then Satan entered into Judas called Iscariot, who was of the number of the Twelve; he went away and conferred with the chief priests and captains how he might betray him to them. And they were glad and engaged to give him money. So he agreed and sought an opportunity to betray him to them in the absence of the multitude.

Tuesday of Holy Week:

Matthew 21:12-16
The Western Wall today is what is left of the temple area Jesus cleansed.

On this day…..
Jesus and His disciples went to the Mount of Olives. He gave the Olivet Discourse which was a prophecy about the destruction of Jerusalem and the end of the age. He speaks about the end time events including His 2nd coming and the final judgment. Also, on this day(Tuesday) Judas negotiated with the Sanhedrin to betray Jesus.

On Holy Tuesday, Jesus teaches publicly in the temple for the last time before He is to be arrested and crucified. Jesus knows that this would be the last time many people would hear Him preach, so He teaches at length with many parables and prophesies. He focuses His teaching on who would receive salvation and who would be condemned and He targets one group of people in particular - the Pharisees. He speaks very sternly to them. In fact, He repeats the phrase "Woe to you," seven times in one speech. He calls them "whitewashed tombs" that appear beautiful on the outside but are full of death on the inside.
📖Readings:
Matthew 21:23 - 25:46
Mark 11:27-13:37
Luke 20:1-21:36
