We just done with our meeting! We are getting our flyers printed off to start getting donations! If anyone would like to donate please reach out to us. We have a lot of new exciting things for this year poker run! The theme for this year is USA 🇺🇸 🇺🇸 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸 . Remember to mark your calendars August 1st is the day of the poker run!

We are very sad to share that Bryce passed away last week. Please keep his family in your prayers. We will still be having the poker run for him. We want to help the family with the medical bills.

The recipient for the Lawn Mower Poker Run this year is Bryce Brandt. He is the son of Ron and Lori, and brother to Brady. Ron grew up in Humboldt many years ago and Brady has just recently moved back a few years ago.

Bryce was diagnosed with testicular cancer last summer at the age of 35. He underwent surgery and chemotherapy and finished both those treatments beautifully. On January 12th, he was taken to the emergency room with a fever and the feeling of not being able to catch his breath. It was found that Bryce developed a very rare fungal lung infection. On January 27th, things took a turn for the worse and Bryce was care flighted to Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis. Upon arrival, Bryce was placed on ECMO, a form of support for his lungs to allow them to heal. Bryce has had many days of forward movement in the healing process, but he has also had some setbacks as well.

The family is asking for all prayers that can be sent their way at this time. However, with Humboldt having the big heart that it does, would like to be able to raise funds to help with travel, food, hotel stays, and hospital bills. We hope that you will take time on August 1st, 2026, to show the Brandt family that Humboldt truly is a small town with a big heart.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!
The poker run was such a blast this year and we can’t thank everyone enough who joined us for such a fun day! Over 115 people came to show their support to the Herman family! WOW!!!!

We would like to thank Shevi, Bailey, and Harley Herman for being this year’s recipient. Although not everyone could physically attend, we could tell everyone was there in spirit. With that, we would also like to thank the community in not only showing all their love and support, but for rallying together and raising over $8,000 for the family! What a great community and town Humboldt is!

We also want to congratulate Bryce Buchheim for being the winner of the gun raffle! The sales in tickets from that reached over $4,000 alone! Looks like we’ll be doing something similar next year!

With that being said, please mark your calendars for next year’s poker run on August 1st, 2026!!!

Tomorrow is the big day!!!!Just wanted to send out a “direction” post so that everyone is in the same page!The run will begin at BigJ’s and sign up/registration will start at 10:30. This will all take place in the BACK parking lot of BigJ’s. There will be a variety of tickets available for sale throughout the course of the day; 50/50, Cabin Stay, Griddle, Quilt, and the gun. We will also be doing the sign up for the five games (2 adults & 3 kids games) being played as well! Bring the kids!!!The route we will be taking, is the following:BigJ’sOld Town and CountryPressler ParkPrairie WindsBaseball FieldsBenjamin StreetMain Street BarWe encourage all participants to stay on the road and not to cut through yards/driveways. Absolutely NO mowing lawns!!!We will be ending at Main Street Humboldt Bar where the potluck, donated item, and raffle drawings will take place. Please bring a dish to pass! There has also been an incredible amount of items donated and there are awesome prizes ranging from newborn to adults! Grand prizes are AMAZING this year!!!We are so excited for the 25th Annual Poker Run tomorrow and can’t wait for you to come and celebrate! Hi everyone! We are putting some finishing touches on everything. We have gotten some great prizes this year from our donors, for everyone to try and win! If anyone has something for the potluck you can bring it to the Main Street Humboldt Bar starting at 7am. You can still purchase gun tickets the day of also! Remember you can start showing up to Big J’s at 10:30 this Saturday August 2nd!!

To register for the lawn mower poker run you to be out at Big J’s! We will be ready by 10:30 to start getting everybody registered! We would love to roll out by 12!! we are encouraging people to use lawnmowers this year for the 25th anniversary. We are giving a prize out for the best decorated lawnmower this year!!

We wanted to send out a reminder, (and we’ll do so again next week!) about getting gun raffle tickets before the run! Please reach out to any committee member about purchasing your tickets in advance!

1 ticket for $20 or 5 for $50!

You can also leave your payment, name and phone number to any of these individuals and we will be sure to get your tickets and information into the drawing!
