Today, we honor Juneteenth, a powerful reminder of freedom, resilience, and the strength of a people who continue to move forward with courage and hope.

At FamilyTime Crisis & Counseling Center, we celebrate this day by uplifting the spirit of progress, unity, and healing in our communities. We are honored to stand alongside survivors and families as we continue the work of support, empowerment, and restoration.

In observance of Juneteenth, our offices are closed today. However, our 24-hour hotline remains available for anyone who needs support or someone to talk to.

Last week, Christina from Bubbles and Beyond LLC visited our shelter to share practical laundry tips and tricks with our clients. From folding clothes to maximize space and reduce wrinkles to understanding how to properly wash different fabrics, colors, and stain types, she provided valuable knowledge that can be used every day.

We especially loved seeing both the adults and children actively participate, ask thoughtful questions, and teach back what they learned. It was a wonderful opportunity for learning, confidence-building, and connection.

FamilyTime was honored to connect with community members at two incredible outreach events this month!

On June 6, we joined Harris County Precinct 4 for the Juneteenth Family Reunion, sharing resources and conversations about the services available to the community.

On June 9, we had the opportunity to participate in the Greater Houston Black Chamber of Commerce Nourish & Network luncheon event, where we connected with local professionals and community members committed to making a difference.

Thank you to and for including us. Every conversation helps raise awareness about domestic violence, sexual assault, and the support available to survivors and their families.
