Single Mothers Coalition

Single Mothers Coalition SMC is a Non-Profit Organization for single mothers. This is not a platform for airing problems, for pity or woe is me.

Our group meets weekly or biweekly to discuss struggles that each of the mothers are facing, to get great resources for child care, grants, jobs, setting up resumes, learn job skills, great websites or more importantly to get advice from the other women in the group who have already faced those same struggles. It is strictly used as problem solving session. In these group meetings these women gai

n stregth and self belief and direction in their lives. The women also act as accountability partners for each other, cheering each other on and calling out behavior that is not in alignment with a healthy life.

This is so inspiring! It actually was sent to me by a very special friend when I was realizing my marriage was over. I was standing at the cross road and knew I had to leave but put it off day by day. I was a zombie and was hurting but didn't know how to GET OUT. I had nothing and knew I would have to completely start over from scratch...This gave me strength! I printed it, highlighted parts that spoke to me and I kept it in my purse with me at all times. It's been a while since I have posted anything and I am sorry. I am a mother of two boys, one in college and the other in 4th grade. I'm also building a business and a charity for single mothers. My life is very full. Please feel free to add anything you would like that will help other women who may need it. Tips or inspiration. Just send a little sisterly love out to the world.

Good parenting has less to do with the number of parents in the home and more to do with the love, values, respect, and the quality of parenting.1.Create rules that teach, not punish 2.Create a family economy to teach about money and responsibility 3.Create family traditions and rituals to celebrate your family.
