- No one feels worse than we do when we have to cancel the Parade. We understand your disappointment; we are disappointed too. All of the work our volunteer committee of 6 people have done for the past year is washed down the drain, literally. Bands get paid regardless, so we are out thousands of dollars. The bands and acts don't do this for free. No, we do not have a rain date, because that literally doubles the work we do during the year. Things have to be coordinated with both boroughs at their monthly borough meetings, police departments, and double the amount of contract negotiations with the bands/acts that are involved in our parade every year. No, we cannot delay the Parade for a few hours while we wait out the weather. People have other things to do and some of these bands/acts are contracted elsewhere later in the day for other events. No, we do not hold our parade on Memorial Day Monday because the bands/acts are already contracted with bigger parades around Bucks County and neighboring communities. If you have any suggestions of how we can better navigate these issues, then please, step up! Join the Parade Committee and attend the meetings. Take over doing the tasks that you feel we have failed you on. Reminder, we are a volunteer committee of six people, with day jobs and families etc. that we take time away from every year to bring you this Parade. Be a part of the solution. ~BJM
