We were going to do a you tube channel chronicling our journey here at the ranch. But man, oh man, there is just not enough time it seems. And there are so many people telling their story and sharing their knowledge...we aren't really sure what value we add...to the story telling that is.
Anyway, this was Brian and Sophia's first market season where they have done most everything on their own. They learned some really important things through trial and error...which we let unfold because it wasn't the end of the world, but definitely not what their preference for outcome would have been. They work well together.
They are definitely building their customer base for prepared foods. And we are super proud of them.
Right now they plan to get a mobile market truck going and drive it through neighborhoods so folks can do some food shopping without having to get out and drive into town. Bread, cheese, canned foods, veggies until winter hits, prepared foods. Not a food truck in the traditional American sense, more like what they have in many places in Europe...the grocery store comes to you for essentials and basics.
It is a plan...we will keep you posted.
Brian and Sophia will be your hosts tomorrow, 8/29 at the Tahlequah Farmers Market under the pavilion by Norris Park from 8-12. There are so many cool vendors at market each Saturday, and this food is all local. These farmers care and do a great job contributing to bettering health around here. Love being part of this community.
Stop by and say hi, even if your pantry is full of bread and cheese.
Ask us about the adventures of BK and the mower. He is a dangerous man, this guy....at least if you are a newly planted tree...not once, not twice, but three times...
