Dear MLA Members,
As we come to the close of the year, the Minnesota Lyme Association (MLA) Board would like to sincerely thank each of you for being part of our association and for contributing to an active and meaningful 2025. Your involvement, support, and engagement are what allow MLA to continue its work and grow as a supportive community.
We look ahead with optimism to 2026 as we continue fulfilling our mission: to provide a supportive environment for people affected by Lyme and other tick-borne diseases, and to educate the public and health professionals in the prevention, diagnosis, and effective treatment of these diseases. We are grateful to walk alongside you in this effort and look forward to another strong year together.
If you are interested in volunteering with MLA or have ideas for upcoming speakers or topics, we would love to hear from you at [email protected]. Member input plays an important role in shaping our meetings and programming.
Beginning in 2026, MLA will be returning to our pre-COVID meeting schedule. Meetings will be held from 6:30–8:00 pm on the second Tuesday of each month, alternating between support group meetings and speaker presentations. We are excited to share that Dr. Thatcher from the Tick Borne Center for Excellence in Woodruff, Wisconsin, will speak in January, and Dr. Richard Horowitz will present in May in collaboration with other National Lyme groups. Additional speakers will be announced as they are scheduled.
All 2026 MLA meetings, with the exception of the May meeting, will use the following Zoom information:

We would also like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Gail Behrens McArdle, who resigned from the MLA Board this year. We are deeply grateful for her many years of dedicated service as a board member and patient advocate, and we wish her all the best in the future.
Thank you as well to everyone who completed our member questionnaire earlier this year. Your responses provided valuable insight into what is most important to our members and will help guide MLA as we move forward in serving our community as effectively as possible.
We are planning to host another in-person MLA gathering in the spring or summer of 2026. Please watch for future communications once a date and location are finalized.
