I (Kortney) know I promised updates on the crew that went to the vet 2 weeks ago (🤦🏼‍♀️). I will get on that asap! Juggling life with a very active 8 month old and single parenting it most days due to my husband’s ridiculously chaotic schedule, has proven to be rather exhausting.

Until then, just wanted to bring something to everyone’s attention- we’ve recently been a victim of the merch scammers 😭

ALL merchandise or fundraisers that we have will be posted by ONLY our page! Comments about merch or fundraisers, will also only be done by our page.

Oh sweet WARREN 🫣

You might recall, when he was returned earlier this year, he had very soft poops, a negative f***l float, and a pretty decent physical checkup. Fast forward a few months, and after some trial and error with dietary tweaks, things have only gone downhill. Although he's still his usual, happy, active self, things got way more serious when we found some dark blood spots while cleaning his cage.

Yesterday we did a repeat f***l float- not exciting. No answers.

Attempted bloodwork. Couldn’t get enough for even in-house chemistry panel. And boy was he unhappy 🫣

Next up- X-rays. Here's where things took a turn. Didn’t show anything that would explain the super loose poops, however, we did randomly stumble upon two small bladder stones - because why not? 🤯

We had talked about possibly doing a course of antibiotics before the diagnostic results, even with negative f***l tests, just in case something funky was brewing that the f***l tests weren't picking up on. I mean, it's not like it'd hurt or anything. But now, with the whole stone situation, we were definitely bringing in the big guns - antibiotics, pain meds, and of course the trusty Shilintong to help dissolve those pesky stones.

Oh, annnd since they had trouble getting blood, we’re doing subq fluids for two weeks in hopes that at his recheck, they can get enough for some testing.

Please send all the strong, positive vibes to Kortney while she attempts to administer all these oral meds and fluids to a very spicy fella 😅

Happy Feet Out Friday from “baby” Simon 🩷

SIMON came to us as teeny little orphan at just a week old… last April! Somehow he and his bestie, SHILOH, are still waiting for their furever home. These two are total charmers and will do anything for food.

Do you have room in your heart (and home) for these sweet boys?

🩷 VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY 🩷

Do we have anyone in our little circle who enjoys event planning? Preferably someone local/familiar with Southern MD but not required.

We are teaming up with our besties over at Mabel's Orphaned Angels Rescue for a large fundraiser this Fall but trying to keep the rescue ducks in a row while wrangling a very active 6 month old hooman has proven to be quite challenging.

Also searching for someone who’s good at social media posts?? Annnd someone to keep our adoptable websites updated 🙃

Kidney failure. It’s happens so fast and often without noticeable symptoms before it’s too late.

WALKER was eating, drinking, behaving normal Saturday morning and by Sunday morning, he was wobbly and very unbalanced. 24hrs later, his walking improved slightly but his overall wellbeing declined drastically. We made the selfless decision to say goodbye, with his best friend, DIESEL, by his side through it all 🌈

Please keep Diesel, their foster mama, and our entire team in your thoughts 🩷
