Hughes Springs VFD was established in 1937, and has always consisted of men and woman that are ready and willing to serve this great community. This group drops all they are doing when their neighbors call for assistance. Medical calls to fires, they are there. They have spent hours upon hours training and honing skills to be ready when you call. We are proud to serve our great community and are w

illing to put our lives on the line to protect lives and property from fire and other disasters. We also promote training and practice of fire prevention. Hughes Springs Volunteer Fire Department is a member of State Firemen's and Fire Marshal's Association. We consist of 1 Tanker 1,200 gal, 1 Large Brush Truck 500 gal/ with foam capabilities, 2 Pumpers 1200 gal, and 1 Brush truck 300 gal .

Please avoid going out into this mess unless it's absolutely necessary. Two locations are available as warming centers if needed. Stay off the roadway and private parking lots with your fancy 4X4 trucks. Be considerate of everyone's safety and property. All city parks and parking lots are closed until further notice.
