Celebrate Recovery Activities Canceled Tonight – Tuesday, September 1

Out of an abundance of caution and with the safety of our CR family in mind, we have made the decision to cancel all Celebrate Recovery activities for tonight, including Celebrate Recovery, The Landing, and Celebration Place.

While we always want to be here and available for our CR family, we do not want anyone putting themselves or their families at risk traveling in potentially unsafe weather conditions.

Please stay safe, keep an eye on local weather conditions, and check on one another. We look forward to being back together next Tuesday.

Tomorrow Night at Celebrate Recovery
From Captivity to Freedom

The enemy wants us to believe we'll always be defined by our past.

God tells a different story.

Throughout Scripture, God is in the business of setting captives free—breaking chains, restoring hope, and leading His people into new life. He is still doing that today.

Tomorrow night you'll hear the testimony of someone who experienced God's deliverance firsthand. A story of struggle... redemption... and the freedom that only Christ can bring.

The Promise of the Twelve Steps (Part 1)
Peace with God

The Twelve Steps aren't just a program—they're a journey toward restored relationships.

The journey begins with Peace with God.

Steps 1–3 teach us that lasting recovery doesn't start with trying harder. It starts with surrender.

Step 1 reminds us that we are powerless to overcome our hurts, habits, and hang-ups on our own.

Step 2 gives us hope that God has both the desire and the power to restore us.

Step 3 invites us to place our lives and our wills into Christ's loving care and control.

Before our relationships with ourselves or others can truly be restored, our relationship with God must come first.

When we stop fighting for control and trust the One who loves us completely, we discover a peace the world cannot give.

Recovery begins with surrender.

Freedom begins with Jesus.

"Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ."
— Romans 5:1

Next week we'll continue our journey through The Promise of the Twelve Steps as we explore Peace with Self and how Steps 4–6 begin God's work of healing from the inside out.

Comparison is a trap that steals joy and distracts us from the life God has called us to live.

It's easy to look around and wonder why someone else's recovery seems faster, easier, or more successful.

But recovery isn't a competition.

God isn't asking you to walk someone else's journey. He's inviting you to faithfully walk your own.

Celebrate every victory—whether it's your first meeting, your first honest conversation, one day of sobriety, or simply choosing to trust God again today.

Your story is unique.

Your pace is okay.

Your progress matters.

Keep your eyes on Christ, not on the person beside you.

Control can be one of the hardest things to surrender.

Many of us spend years trying to manage life on our own—believing that if we just work harder, worry more, or hold on tighter, everything will somehow fall into place.

Principle 3 invites us to a different way of living.

Choosing Christ's care and control doesn't mean giving up—it means trusting the One who sees the whole picture. It means laying down fear, pride, and self-reliance so we can experience the peace that comes from following His direction.

God isn't asking for perfection.

He's asking for your willingness.

Every day is another opportunity to place your life in His hands and trust that His plans are better than your own.

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight." — Proverbs 3:5–6

Strong foundations are built one choice at a time.

Every teenager faces challenges. Pressure to fit in. Difficult friendships. Anxiety about the future. Questions about identity and purpose.

The Landing is a place where students can discover they don't have to face those challenges alone.

Through Christ-centered lessons, authentic friendships, caring leaders, and honest conversations, students learn practical tools for making wise choices, building healthy relationships, and growing in their faith.

No perfect kids.
No perfect families.
Just a safe place to grow together.

The Landing is for students in Grades 6–12 and meets during Celebrate Recovery each Tuesday evening.

A stronger future begins with a solid foundation.
