Did you know that 34% of households across Wisconsin struggle to afford the basic necessities of housing, child care, health care, food, and transportation?

Many of these ALICE (Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed) households work in jobs that you interact with on a daily basis- retail salespeople, childcare workers, teachers, first responders, cashiers, and servers to name a few. They are friends, family and neighbors.💙

ALICE represents individuals and households who earn just above the Federal Poverty Level but less than what it costs to make ends meet. ALICE workers often struggle to keep their own households from financial ruin while keeping our communities running.

🎉 Congratulations to Hudson Youth Resource Committee on being named a 2024-2025 Community Impact Grant Recipient by United Way St. Croix & Red Cedar Valleys! 🌟

The Hudson Area Youth Resource Committee provides support and resources to at-risk and homeless youth throughout the greater Hudson area. Their mission is to inspire the community to embrace the strengths of youth by providing resources and guidance to homeless and at-risk youth with the intent to enhance and empower their sense of self-reliance, connection to their community, and potential of a positive future.

They do this through transportation services, gift cards (Goodwill & Great Clips), gifts to the Hudson School District Angel Fund (helping students with needs such as clothing, shoes, gas cards, filed trip expenses, course expenses, etc.), mentoring, working with Positive Alternatives on housing options, and more.

When you make a donation through a United Way workplace campaign, your funds are reinvested locally through United Way Community Impact Grants. We aim to support organizations whose missions align with our goal of significantly enhancing individual and family well-being. Our vision is for every person in Western Wisconsin to lead a healthy, thriving, and secure life.

Each year, local nonprofits in Burnett, Pierce, Polk, and St. Croix counties (soon Dunn & Pepin) that focus on health, education, or financial stability can apply for funding to support their programs. 💙
