Congratulations to Brielle, a third grader at H.O. Smith School and the lucky winner of the Hudson Lions Club Firetruck Ride to School! 🚒❤️
On August 31, Brielle started her school day in a very exciting way—with a ride to school on Ladder 2! She was joined by her 3rd grade sister, Olivia, and both girls were absolutely thrilled to be part of such a fun morning.
Thank you to the Hudson Fire Department and to firefighters Patrick Chamberlain and Ryan Senior for making this special ride possible and for escorting the girls safely and proudly to school.
What a wonderful way to kick off the school day and celebrate community spirit in Hudson! 🚒✨

🎓🦁 Hudson Lions Club Awards $2,000 Scholarship 🦁🎓

The Hudson Lions Club is proud to announce that Ashley Somers of Hudson has been awarded the $2,000 Lion Ron Boisvert Scholarship for Continuing Education in the Medical Field.

Ashley is currently a senior at the Dr. William Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science in North Chicago, Illinois, where she is continuing her studies in the medical field. She is a graduate of Alvirne High School and earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Lowell in 2023.

This scholarship honors Lion Ronald Boisvert, who was an active member of the Hudson Lions Club from 1983 until his passing in 2006. Ron was known for his quiet dedication and behind-the-scenes volunteerism, and he received the Lions Clubs International President’s Certificate of Appreciation for his service.

What an outstanding National Night Out at Rodgers Memorial Library! The beautiful weather helped bring out a wonderful crowd of families for an evening full of fun and free activities for kids.
A big hit was the miniature golf putt at the Hudson Lions Club booth, along with coupons for a sweet treat at the ice cream trucks and a free raffle for a student in 2nd grade and up, to ride on a Hudson Fire truck on the first day of school.
A huge shout-out to the Hudson Police Department for sponsoring this annual event and helping make it a memorable night for our community!

A look back at last Saturday’s 51st Annual NH & VT Lions Twin State Soccer Cup! We were happy to have our Lions Club members there to support this great event and help make it a great day of soccer and service. Congrats to all the players and teams that participated, there was so much talent on the field!

We couldn’t be happier to see Kathy and Jan’s story shared. What started as a ride has grown into a genuine friendship, a wonderful example of how kindness and community can change lives.

For Jan Schlecht, a ride to the grocery store can become much more than a trip across town.

Jan, who has no vision, often relies on volunteer drivers through Future In Sight to get to appointments, run errands, and keep daily life moving. One of those drivers is Kathy Nichols, and over time, the rides have turned into something bigger: a friendship.

From Market Basket runs to doctor’s appointments, coffee stops, concerts, and even dog-sitting for each other, Jan and Kathy show how a simple act of service can create a real connection. In New Hampshire, volunteers completed 3,750 rides in 2025—but for the people in the passenger seat, the impact goes far beyond the miles.

In honor of America’s 250th birthday, our Comfort Shawl Service Project donated nine patriotic-themed blankets to local veterans. These beautiful blankets were lovingly made by our member, Pauline, as a heartfelt thank-you to those who have served. 🇺🇸
