Hi Everyone!
UW-Continuing Education will once again be offering "Backyard Birding basics," a 4 week course (2 hours each Wednesday evening for 4 consecutive weeks march 23-April 13) via Zoom. This class is designed specifically for beginners who want to learn more about feeding, identifying, and landscaping for wild birds. Last year, two dozen of us had fun meeting and learning more about birds without leaving the comfort of our own homes. Hope to see you this time around!

I just learned that a miraculous conjunction of ornithological events is transpiring:
(translation) Both Hawk's Ridge's Hawk Weekend and WSO's Jaegerfest are occurring on the same weekend as the Ga***rd Nelson Campout at Amnicon Falls State Park!
I cannot recall the last time this has happened! Most years they are a weekend apart.
There's still room to join Paul and Kathy Fredrickson, Nina Koch, Anne Geraghty, and myself for a birding and camping Sep 17th and 18th. You don't have to camp: you could come up for a day or hotel it.
We will be arriving at Amnicon Falls Friday afternoon and (weather permitting) staying until Sunday the 19th. GNAS will supply beverages. BYI food.
