Students from Hudson High’s Kindness Club recently raised money to purchase hams for the Veterans food pantry in Greenport. To thank them, and show their appreciation for all they do for Veterans, Hudson American Legion Post 184 treated the students & their teachers to breakfast this morning!

The Kindness Club is Hudson High School’s Life Skills Class. It’s are a work based learning program where students with intellectual disabilities are developing skills for employability.

The American Legion was heard loud and clear in Washington throughout the final month of December. Thousands of Legionnaires and supporters weighed in for Congress to pass the Senator Elizabeth Dole 21st Century Veterans Healthcare and Benefits Act; the national commander commended a commitment to military base improvement funding; and testimony was delivered in support of federal grants to reduce veteran su***de.

ARE YOU A DAUGHTER, STEP-DAUGHTER,
GRANDDAUGHTER, or GREAT-GRANDDAUGHTER of a Veteran and not a member of the American Legion Auxiliary? If so, come join our BRAND NEW Daughters of The American Legion committee!!!

If your parent (or step-parent), grandparent, or great-grandparent served honorably during World War I, or any time from December 7, 1941, to date; YOU ARE ELIGIBLE to be a member!! There are no dues required and this is a great way for you to honor your loved one's service and continue their legacy!

The first meeting is January 25, 2025 at 10:00am.

To the member of our community who donated a Thanksgiving meal (a Turkey & all of the side dishes)..THANK-YOU!!!

Columbia County American Legion Commander (& Post 184 Commander) Eric De Kraai & Department Leading Candidate John Miga will be representing New York this week at NALC!

The 2024 National American Legion College (NALC) will be held Nov. 17-22 at American Legion National Headquarters in Indianapolis. The 2024 class will feature 53 American Legion members representing 36 departments.
