The Roe Jan Soccer Club was organized 12 years ago to give area youth the same opportunities offered in other communities. We are now presenting our development programs through the Columbia United Soccer Academy. This will help people know we serve more than just the Roe Jan area and that our primary objective is to provide education about the sport. We have always served the southern end of Colu
mbia County, New York and this name change will help players from Hudson, Taconic Hills and other areas not served by a club, identify us as their local soccer club. The foundation for good school teams is built through club teams. We need to build up the number of adult volunteers to help us with the myriad of tasks needed to make a strong organization. There is plenty of work off the field, so soccer experience is not necessary. We need people to serve on our board and to chair committees. We hope you can find time to help or even to spread the word around and direct interested people to us. League play, insurance and support for our club, are provided through our membership in the Capital District Youth Soccer League (CDYSL) (www.cdysl.org). Through them we are associated with the Eastern New York Youth Soccer Association (ENYYSA). Over the years we have carried both girls and boys team for ages 10–19, as well as provided clinics and training for free, or at very little cost. The club has many experienced coaches and the league requires all our head coaches to obtain USSF coaching licenses. What we offer the kids is on a par with top coaching and soccer experiences available in the Capital Region. I know we can build back the interest and get our school soccer up to the level it should be in the fall! I look forward to having you and your child join us to experience the fun of club soccer!
