O-I-See Youth Strategies

O-I-See Youth Strategies O-I-See is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping youth succeed in a safe and confidential setting.

Our services are provided on a one-to-one basis, allowing individual youth to discover their strengths. O-I-See Youth Strategies was established in 2011 driven by a need outside our school and supportive systems for children, families, and professionals. Our page serves the need for advice, inspiration, healing, smiles, laughter, and love for those that find it to be helpful for free. :) Have a beautiful day!

☀️ Hello, Summer!

The first day of summer is here! Here’s to sunshine, connection, and noticing the good.

Wisconsin summers bring warm, sunny days on the lake, beautiful flowers, and gorgeous end‑of‑day sunsets. A summer sunset will make me drop whatever I’m doing just so I can take it in.

If you have any sunset pictures, we would love to see them! Share your photos below! 🌅

Happy first day of summer! 😎

We are just kicking off summer, but as you know, fall will be here before we know it. That being said, thank you, Leisen Family Farm! 🎃

We’re grateful for the meaningful partnership you've built with our youth here at O‑I‑See — giving them space to connect with responsibility, nature, and hands‑on learning.

Your generosity in donating pumpkins for our youth to carve brings so much joy and hands‑on learning to our kids. We appreciate the heart you pour into our community. 🎃💛

If you’ve never taken a trip to visit the farm, definitely find time this coming fall to do so. The duck races are a must‑see! 🦆

Check them out on Facebook!

Today is International Waterfall Day. If you are local, I'm sure you have experienced the incredible beauty of the waterfall right here in Hudson. Willow Falls, at Willow River State Park is such a gift to this community.

Whether you have never been there or you have been many times. It's never a bad day to see the gorgeous Willow Falls. Spending time out in nature is so good for the soul. I hope you are able to find time this summer to put on your hiking book and spend some time at falls. If not, it is gorgeous in every season!

If you haven't heard. Our refreshed O‑I‑See website is live, and we’re loving how it helps families understand what support can look like for their youth.

Just a quick reminder for those who missed it -- Emma currently has two open spots for youth who could benefit from all that O-I-See has to offer. You can even read a little more about Emma right on our website: https://www.oiseeyouth.org/our-team

If someone in your world has been considering reaching out, this might be the gentle nudge they need.

Have you been to the New Richmond Library recently? It’s brand new and such a beautiful space! One of our lovely youth even mentioned that “new‑building smell.” You know exactly what they mean just from the description. 😊 You can even grab a coffee from the coffee shop while you enjoy some quiet reading time. ☕📖

Another cool feature: they have a “Grab and Go Shelf Service.” Contact the library at least 30 minutes in advance, and they’ll gather what you’re looking for and have it ready on a shelf for easy grab and go! How convenient.

Oh, and one more thing! In one of their recent Facebook posts, they shared that they added “Crime Cases” to their board‑game collection. Who doesn’t love a good mystery game! 🔎

Check out the library for yourself: https://newrichmondlibrary.org/

One of our mentors recently came across this coffee company, Bitty and Beau's Coffee. Very heartwarming and aligned with the work that we do here at O-I-See. We don't know them but felt moved to share a bit about them. Here's a little bit about what they do.

"Bitty & Beau’s Coffee is a human rights movement disguised as a coffee shop, where people with intellectual & developmental disabilities are valued in the workplace. It’s a place where diversity isn’t just appreciated, it’s celebrated. Bitty & Beau’s Coffee proudly employs 450+ individuals with disabilities nationwide."

You can read more about them and also order coffee to be shipped with this link:

Most schools in the area are on summer break and if not, they will be soon! Summer is for trying new things, making memories, and finding the little moments that make you feel strong, brave, and connected. Also, having FUN! Here are some youth‑approved ideas to kick off summer! ☀️😎

Spread Kindness: leave an uplifting note, hold a door, or hype someone up

Adventure: walk a new trail, explore a park, or find the best swings in town

Make Something Cool: chalk art, DIY bracelets, or create a summer playlist of your favorite songs to dance to

Relax and Reset: 3 deep breaths, lay in the grass and see what shapes you see in the clouds, or a 1‑minute “what I’m grateful for” moment

Connect With Someone: cook with family, text a friend you miss, or invite a friend to go to a park

Show Your Strengths: try something new, name a strength you used today, or set a tiny goal

Let’s make this a summer full of joy, confidence, and moments that help us see the best in ourselves and each other. 🌞

Have you ever been to Weitkamp Park in Hudson? Our O-I-See mentors love taking youth here on outings. We are grateful for this beautiful and inclusive park!

If you have a minute here's an article from 2021 talking about this wonderful park, name after the late teacher, Al Weitkamp.

My favorite quote that I personally took away from this article is from City Council member Bill Alms: “This playground is not about kids with disabilities but about kids of all abilities playing side by side.”

Just popping in with a Thursday heads‑up: 🍩Tomorrow is National Donut Day! If you're like me, you need this reminder today to have them out and ready for tomorrow morning. If not, this is your reminder to set your alarm a little early for a fresh donut!

What's your pick? Glazed, cream filled, jelly filled, frosted cake donut, the list goes on! 🍩

I love a good Bismark!
