The Hudson Home & Garden Club was part of the Community Expo on Sunday, May 3, at Hudson High School. The Chamber of Commerce event is an opportunity for the public to meet Hudson businesses and nonprofits.

Garden club volunteers Leah Sun, Cheryl Coots, Jan Hanlon and Nancy Toll were table hosts, providing information about the garden club to interested visitors. Karen Swisher, Cindy Hauser and Mary Clohisy volunteered to help kids decorate garden pots in the children's area.

Visitors to our table submitted their names to win a pink begonia. The winner was Helen Traynor from River Falls.

More Arbor Day Pictures

The Hudson Home and Garden Club supported Arbor Day, April 24, by donating a potted bur oak tree and eight bare-root St. Croix elm trees to the E.P. Rock Elementary School grounds in Hudson. Students, teachers, club members and city officials attended a tree-planting ceremony at the school.

Garden club member Louise Dobbe, pictured with the bur oak, was instrumental in planning the club's Arbor Day tree contributions.

Fourth-graders learned about the importance of trees and helped shovel dirt.

City council member Sarah Bruch read an Arbor Day proclamation from the mayor.
