One more shoutout to our friends at Hudson Daybreak Rotary and their upcoming Taste of the Valley event happening this Thursday at Lakefront Park in Hudson.

Taste of the Valley is a great opportunity to enjoy an evening of local food, community connection, and fun while supporting meaningful work happening right here in our area. If you’re looking for plans this week, this is a great way to get out, support a wonderful organization, and enjoy a great community event.

We hope to see a great turnout for them this Thursday!

Enjoy an all-you-can-eat experience that represents the distinct flavor of the St. Croix River Valley hosted by Hudson Daybreak Rotary.

We’re incredibly grateful to Hudson Daybreak Rotary for selecting River Valley Charities as a recipient of a $2,000 Spring Grant.

Partnerships like this help make our work possible. Every dollar invested helps us continue supporting local food insecurity efforts and providing nutritious meals and resources to children and families throughout the St. Croix Valley.

We’re thankful for organizations like Hudson Daybreak Rotary that continue investing in a stronger, healthier community for everyone.

Thank you for helping us make a difference.

Yesterday, River Valley Charities was proud to help convene a regional FoodShare discussion alongside the Hunger Prevention Council - Pierce County, St. Croix Valley Food Bank, and Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin

More than 30 leaders and partners from food pantries, public health, healthcare, schools, shelters, nonprofits, and community organizations across Pierce, Polk, St. Croix and Burnett counties came together to discuss barriers families face in accessing FoodShare and other essential resources.

The conversation highlighted both the challenges and opportunities ahead, from technology and transportation barriers to the importance of trusted local relationships, education, and collaboration. We also heard thoughtful discussion around how organizations can better connect families not only to food resources, but to broader supports that help create long-term stability.

A sincere thank you to Brooklynn Gray and Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin for traveling to our region to share updates, resources, and expertise, and to the St. Croix Valley Food Bank for hosting yesterday’s gathering.

River Valley Charities is grateful to help facilitate the growing Emergency Food Systems (EFS) group, which brings organizations together around food insecurity and related community challenges across the St. Croix Valley. Yesterday’s meeting reinforced just how valuable it is when organizations come together, share ideas openly, and work toward solutions collaboratively.

If you or your organization are interested in being part of future EFS conversations, we’d love to connect.

Partnerships like this are what community impact is all about.

We’re honored to support the Polk County Salvation Army Backpack Food Program and the important work they do to help ensure local children and families have reliable access to food on weekends and outside of school hours.

Many backpack food programs across the St. Croix Valley are volunteer-run and working with very limited resources. River Valley Charities is proud to come alongside programs like this to help strengthen their efforts and expand their impact.

Be sure to check out the upcoming Backpack Bash on May 20 in Amery!

We are incredibly grateful for our sponsors of the Backpack Food program/Backpack Bash. River Valley Charities thank you for your support! Your donation helps to feed families who may not have reliable food on the weekends.

Today’s the day. 💥

It’s Give Big Valleys 2026— a 24-hour online giving event supporting nonprofits right here in the St. Croix Valley.

At River Valley Charities, your support goes beyond just one program. It helps us:

• Fund and support local backpack and food programs serving over 1,300 kids each week
• Expand access to free, fresh, nutritious food through key partnerships
• Bring partners together to share resources, ideas, and strengthen local food programs
• Support financial literacy efforts that help families build stability for the long term

We’re not just filling gaps — we’re helping build a stronger, more connected system of support for families in our community.

If you’ve ever considered supporting RVC, today is a great day to jump in.

We’re incredibly grateful to partner with the School District of New Richmond and support the Happy Kids Backpack Program.

This $10,000 investment will help ensure kids in our community have consistent, nutritious food heading into the next school year.

Programs like this are often volunteer-led and rely heavily on community support. We’re proud to stand alongside them and help fill the gaps where it matters most.

Thank you to everyone who supports River Valley Charities and makes moments like this possible.

We are so thankful to River Valley Charities for their continued support of our Happy Kids Backpack Program. Without their generous donation we would be unable to reach our needs for next school year. Thank you RVC!

Four years ago today, RVC was honored to be part of the groundbreaking for the new Somerset Community Food Pantry.

We were proud to support this project and the shared effort to strengthen food access for local families. It is a good reminder of what can happen when communities, partners, and supporters come together around an important need.

We are grateful to have played a role in helping this vision move forward and thankful for the ongoing work of Somerset Community Food Pantry.
