The Hudson Pirates are the 2026 Class 1A Girls Soccer State Champions after an incredible victory over Denver in a thrilling penalty kick shootout!

Thank you to all who came out today to support us for our breakfast. We know summer time is crazy busy but we thank those who took the time out of their schedules to grab a bit to eat. We hope to see you next month during Hudson Days at our dance Ftiday night!

Tonight, we presented an award to Dr. James Selenke for his service to the Hudson Fire Department for the past 35 years as medical director of our EMS program. Dr. Selenke provided his knowledge and expertise to set protocols in place for the EMS service to follow. He provided yearly run reviews, discussing previous calls and how they were handled. He was a great mentor to all those who have serviced during this time period. Pictured below are some of the current EMS providers with Dr. Selenke.

We’re happy to support this great memorial honoring those who have served in Iowa. We have numerous members on these walls and will be adding another this summer. If you have the opportunity to check it out sometime, it’s a great experience.

Please stay home unless it’s an emergency! Road conditions are terrible and numerous calls about cars in the ditch are being reported. If you do have to travel, take your time and be safe.

In this weather, be sure to have extra blankets, coats, hats, gloves and boots in the vehicle with you in case you become stranded!

High winds + snow = poor road conditions across the area. Visibility is reduced, roads are slick, and your vehicle is not as confident as you are.

Please consider delaying travel if possible. If you must drive, slow it down, buckle up, and give snowplows plenty of room to work.

Let’s all agree that today is not the day to test physics. Stay safe.
