The Hudson Lions enjoyed raising money for school supplies for needy students on March 2. We raised $355.85 to go toward Project Pencils. This program is spearheaded by the Community Church of Hudson and the Lions are glad to participate in this worthy project.

Do you want to enjoy one of the last beautiful days of Fall? Join the Hudson Lions Club near the Hudson Public Library at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, November 15 to help clean up the city gardens.

Iowa KidSight is a free vision screening program for children ages 6 months to kindergarten, run by the Lions Clubs of Iowa and the University of Iowa Stead Family Children's Hospital. The program uses a specialized camera to take a picture of a child's eyes, and specialists at the university evaluate the results to check for potential vision problems. If a problem is detected, parents receive a referral letter and a list of local eye doctors to help ensure their child gets the care they need. Bruce Johnson and Jim Phares screened 270 children this fall in seven sites which are in three towns (Hudson, North Tama, and Orange Township).
