☢️ Troop 437: Surviving Boomtown 426! ☢️
What do you get when you mix a Fallout apocalypse with an East Carolina downpour? One unforgettable weekend for Troop 437! 🌧️

We just rolled back from Scoutoree 2026, and despite the "nuclear winter" weather, our Scouts showed exactly what it means to be prepared. We didn't just survive the wasteland; we owned it!

🛡️ The Wasteland Alliance
A massive shout-out to our campmates, Troop 743 and Pack 347. Sharing the site made for an incredible atmosphere—nothing builds brotherhood like keeping the gear dry and the campfire (mostly) burning together. It was great seeing the older Scouts leading the way and showing the Cub Scouts how it's done!

☣️ Weekend Recon:
The Theme: The Boomtown 426 activities were top-tier. Huge thanks to the East Carolina Council for the vision and the hard work to make this Fallout world come to life.
The Grit: Our Scouts powered through the rain with smiles on their faces, proving that mud is just part of the uniform.
S.P.E.C.I.A.L. Moments: From tactical skills to teamwork, every Scout earned their bottle caps this weekend.

"Rain? We call that 'Radioactive Refreshment.'"

Troop 437 in action! ⚜️📦

Last weekend, our Scouts took part in the annual Scouting for Food drive, and we couldn't be prouder of the results. We spent the weekend collecting donations to help restock the Queens Creek Methodist Church food pantry, ensuring they have the supplies needed to serve our community.

In addition to the food collected, we are thrilled to report that we raised $750 in cash donations for the pantry! Thank you to everyone who helped us live out our mission to "help other people at all times."

More Than Just Camping: Building Financial Foundations 📊

While most of the world is thinking about Tax Day today, the Scouts of Troop 437 are one step ahead!

Recently, our Scouts have been diving deep into the Personal Management Merit Badge. This isn't just about earning a patch; it’s about learning how to manage a budget for 13 weeks, understanding the risks of debt, and exploring how the stock market works.

By learning these financial literacy skills now, they are preparing to navigate the complexities of taxes and personal finance long before they receive their first full-time paycheck.

Project Complete! 🦅
Huge congratulations to Lainie for successfully completing her Eagle Scout Project! This is a massive milestone on the trail to Eagle, and it wouldn’t have been possible without the hard work and support of the scouts and volunteers from Troop 437.

Seeing everyone come together to help her bring this vision to life was truly inspiring. Now that the physical work is done, she’s in the home stretch—just a bit of final paperwork and her Board of Review stand between her and the rank of Eagle Scout.

We are so proud of your leadership and dedication, Lainie! Let’s all wish her luck as she moves into this final phase.

Lead your own adventure with Troop 437! 🧗‍♀️🔥

Calling all girls interested in leadership, high adventure, and the great outdoors! Come out to our Open House on April 11th to meet the scouts of Troop 437 G. Whether you’re interested in hiking, camping, or learning life-long skills, we want to show you what our troop is building.

We’ll have games, scouting skills demos, and a FREE LUNCH for everyone who attends (plus snacks!). 🌭🍎

🐣 Huge Thank You to Queen’s Creek Methodist Church!
Troop 437 would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Queens Creek for such a wonderful day on March 28th!

We had a blast helping run the annual Easter Egg Hunt—it was great to see so many smiling faces and help the kids find those hidden treasures.

Beyond just the event, we want to express our deepest gratitude to the church for chartering our Troop. Because of your continued support and for providing us with a space where our Scouts can learn, lead, and grow, we are able to make a lasting impact in our community.

Cooking Up Some Teamwork! 🍑🥣
On our recent campout, the scouts took "trust the process" to a whole new level! To sharpen their communication skills, they tackled a unique culinary challenge: making peach cobbler in a pan while blindfolded.

It wasn't just about the dessert; it was about learning how to give precise directions, listen closely to teammates, and coordinate every step without seeing the next move. There were plenty of laughs around the campsite, and the teamwork was as sweet as the cobbler!

It has been an incredibly busy and educational few weeks! Our scouts have been diving deep into the world of Animal Science, working hard to earn their merit badges while getting some hands-on experience with farm life.

What We’ve Been Learning 📋
We recently had a fantastic visit from Mad Hatchery, where we explored the essentials of animal husbandry. The scouts learned about the different breeds and various uses for:
Chickens, Goats, and Sheep 🐑
Horses and Pigs 🐎
Dairy and Beef Cattle 🐄

Putting Knowledge into Action 🚜
To wrap up our studies, the troop took an exciting field trip to Mike’s Farm! It was a great opportunity for the scouts to see the animals they studied in person. We also enjoyed browsing the locally made items in their gift shop—there is so much talent in our community!

"A Scout is Loyal." 🇺🇸

Today, Troop 437 honors the leaders who have shaped our nation. In Scouting, we strive to build the same character, integrity, and sense of duty that define the highest office in the land.

Did you know that the Scouting path and the Presidency have a shared history? 🦅 President Gerald Ford once said, "The principles of Scouting are the same principles that I have tried to live by throughout my life." To this day, he remains the only U.S. President to have earned the rank of Eagle Scout!

Whether we are leading a patrol or serving our community, we are proud to walk in the footsteps of those who came before us. We are training the leaders of tomorrow, one merit badge at a time.
