Ohio Skate For Life "United in Health and Giving to those in Need" In 2012, Lifebanc and Sonya mutually agreed to part ways with the Ohio Skates 4 Life program.

Skate For Life (SFL) originally began in 2010 when Sonya Callahan was employed by Lifebanc, the organ recovery organization, in Cleveland, OH. Sonya was asked to create a first-time program targeting African Americans in the roller skating community about organ donation. The program was called "Ohio Skates 4 Life" and the first benefit took place on Good Friday, April 22, 2011, in Cleveland, OH. One of the keynote speakers was Rico Hill who is a living kidney donor and member of the Trend Setting Crew (TSC) aka the TrendSettas. With strong encouragement from TSC Rico, Sonya personally assumed full responsibility of the benefit and entered co-partnership with TSC. The benefit was renamed "Skate For Life" and relocated to Columbus,OH. The mission of SFL is "United In Health And Giving To Those In Need." SFL is fluid in nature and thus far has promoted organ, eye, and tissue donation (2011 - 2014), heart disease (2014 - 2015), breast reconstruction awareness for breast cancer survivors (2016), human trafficking awareness and its effects on health at Kent State University (2016), and autism (2016 - present). SFL coordinators are Sonya Callahan, TSC Bryant "BeeOne" Anthony, and TSC Jame "Chilt" Chilton.

The Foodbank, Inc. Is More Than Food, It’s Community!

On June 16th, members of (Founder/President, Bryant “Bee1ne” Harvey, Co-Founder/Community Outreach Manager, Sonya Callahan, and Board member, Conroy Clarke) had the wonderful opportunity to tour The Foodbank Inc. led by Lee Lauren (Alder) Truesdale/Chief Development Officer.

The TSC Foundation was simply in awe of everything that they learned and saw and quickly realized that The Foodbank, Inc. is much more than just a food distributor but is also an organization that offers several programs that helps build stronger communities!

We loved everything about the tour! We took a picture with staff in their Urban Garden build on pavement, which was so cool, experienced their greenhouse where they grow fresh green lettuce too beautiful to eat, was blown away by their on-site Drive-Thru, and we saw their awesome new Community Center where we look forward to hosting an event in the near future!

Thanks again Lee, for you are wonderful! Congratulations again to you and The Foodbank Inc. on achieving 50 Years of Service!!!! The TSC Foundation looks forward to implementing some of those ideas we discussed because we are truly excited and are grateful for the partnership!

When SFL hosted the 14th Annual "Back to the Future Anniversary Party" (which is one of my favorite memories of SFL), we were hopeful that SFL was back on track. However, the Ohio Skate Communities have spoken by the fluctuation of attendance at SFL. And because of that, we had to take a hard look at the future and sustainability of SFL in a market where there are numerous late night adult skate parties already occurring in Ohio and outside of Ohio that Ohio skaters support. And because of that, we have decided to restructure SFL in order to stay true to ourselves regarding community outreach and making a real difference in the communities that we serve.

Therefore, this Saturday, May 2nd, SFL will be hosting the last late night adult skate at Orbit Fun Center from 11 pm - 4 am. Please wear the color red (Bee1ne's favorite color) or anything floral in honor of T$C for his amazing leadership and legacies of being the Founder of SFL along with myself for 16 years, as well as being the Founder of T$C for 20 years and counting!!! TSC 16/20 is my way of saying thank you to Trnd$etta Bee1ne who has faithfully stood by my side and never waivered for 16 years!!!

SFL is not going away completely for we are still continuing with our already scheduled programming that will be taking place the rest of this year which includes "Unity In Orange - Teens & Adults Rolling Against Bullying," "Roses In Bloom Breast Cancer Screening Event," and the "Giving Tuesday Food Drive."

So please come out and celebrate with us for we would love to see everyone for this last historical event!!! Thanks so much in advance! 🤗🌹🌹🌹

2025 Giving Tuesday Results Are In!

The Foodbank in Dayton, Ohio, informed us that they had several food campaigns going on for Giving Tuesday but the amount of food that we donated from our Giving Tuesday Food Drive at Orbit Fun Center outperformed those groups!

Together, we donated a total of 1,183 pounds of food which provided a total of 986 meals!!!
And we surpassed our total food donations by 197 pounds from 2024!!!

“Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it’s the only thing that ever has.” Margaret Meed

Again, on behalf of The TSC Foundation and Orbit Fun Center, Thank You to All Supporters!!!
We truly appreciated everyone who contributed to the success of our Giving Tuesday event and look forward to doing it again next year for the 5th Annual Giving Tuesday Adult Skate & Food Drive at Orbit Fun Center on December 1, 2026.
