Post Advisor William "Drew" Olinger HHPD Formerly Referred to as the Huber Heights Police Explorer Post 57 The Huber Heights Youth Public Safety Cadets (YPSC), formerly known as the Huber Heights Police Explorer Post 2057 prior to Summer 2025, has been active since May 1979 when started by now retired officer Mark Bruns, who led the program until his retirement in 2012 (over 30 years!). y the Huber Heights Police Public Affairs Unit and staffed by 2–3 officers, the program is open to youth ages 15 to 20 and prepares them for careers in law enforcement. Cadets are trained in police procedures, law, and gain hands-on experience through patrol ride-alongs. They assist with security, crowd and traffic control, evidence collection, searches, and attend national gatherings to share experiences with other cadets. The Public Safety Cadet program promotes the growth and development of youth interested in public safety careers and is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.
