ATH434 is planned to go into phase 3 trial end of this year. ATH434 is in the fast track and has orphan drug designation-- meant to treat MSA and targets iron molecules meant to restore balance in the brain.

The FDA has confirmed Alterity Therapeutics' Phase 3 development strategy for ATH434 in multiple system atrophy, agreeing that one pivotal trial supported by Phase 2 confirmatory evidence could support a future NDA. Phase 3 enrollment is expected to begin by the end of 2026.
