Wow... our SPARTANS had an ammazing week at Camp Aquehonga (Ten Mile River), NY!

Each Scout learned about leadership, team work, and their personal resiliency.

From fingerprinting to space exploration and swimming to small boat sailing, fifteen Scouts earned a combined 79 merit badges during the week.

They prepared 14 meals, attended 9 flag ceremonies, participated in the camp aqua olympics, tie-dyed shirts, conducted cowboy action pistol and free shoot, and much more.

Two of our Spartans also participated the Camp Aquehonga Iron Chef Competition. Each participant was required to plan and prepare their own dish from scratch... and the competition was fierce. However, with the determination of a true SPARTAN, they brought home victory and made camp history by becoming the first adult and youth winners from the same Troop in a single year. Well done to our Scoutmaster, Mr R, as the adult leader winner, and Oliver G., our youth winner!

As always, the Spartans leave a legacy behind with a service project to improve the camp. This year, putting his special skills to use, Mr. Dan mounted 2 high ceiling fans in the Camp Headquarters. Well done Dan!

Troop 300 also brought home a streamer for Honor Troop as well as two streamers for Honor Patrol!

Finally, through the high points and the low... the sunshine and the rain... we are extremely proud of every SPARTAN for their performance at camp this year. Each gave their full dedication to overcome separate challenges and succeed. The worked as a cohesive team to persevere together.

WE're looking forward to another great Scouting year!1

The Declaration of Independence was the formal proclamation that the original 13 colonies would be an independent country... separate from England.

The Declaration of Independence did not start or end the American Revolution, but it did spark the flame of freedom and uniity at home and abroad.

In addition to our own struggle for freedom, the words of this document inspired the French Revolution, the revolt of Chinese students in Tiananmen Square, Abraham Lincoln to issue the Emancipation Proclamation, the Civil Rights movement, and movement for gender equality.

The real glory of the Declaration of Independence has been our nation's epic struggle throughout history to live up to the ideals of this remarkable document.

It is the ultimate expression of the American mind and makes this nation the greatest on earth!

May God bless the SPARTANS of Troop 300, our families and friends, and the United States of America!

Happy Independence Day!

Troop 300 remembering all of our Veterans on Memorial Day.

May we never forget that freedom isn't free. We owe it all to those who gave it all. Our debt to the heroic men and valiant women in the service of our country can never be repaid.

Happy Mother's Day to all the scout moms out there for supporting us on our scouting journey!

The SPARTANS of Troop 300 took Gettysburg by storm last weekend.

The Troop learned about an important period in American history, took time to reflect on the sacrifices of our nation's fallen, enjoyed the opportunity build camaraderie between Scouts and family members, and made life-long memories.

This Christmas season our SPARTANS came out to honor those who have sacrificed in the service of our nation.

Wreaths Across America is an annual in which communities across the country place Christmas wreaths at grave sites in military cemeteries. The purpose is to remember the fallen, honor those who served, and teach the next generation the value of freedom.

We were honored to provide the color guard for this ceremony and a special shout out to Jameson and Gia for leading us in the National Anthem.

We continue to be proud of the entire Troop 300 and their commitment to serving our community!

SPARTANS!

Troop 300 was well represented at Aldrich School's 20th Annual Veteran's Day Assembly.

Hat's off to our Scouts who wore their uniforms to school and participated in the event! Two of our Spartans led the way by each carrying a service flag at the opening.

As always, it was a wonderful assembly and many thanks go out to the Aldrich staff for hosting!

As we approach Veteran's Day, please take a moment to honor the more than 19 million men and women who have served in the U.S. military.
