RIP Mikey, I lost a nephew and we all lost a Desert Storm warrior, as you said I wasn't a REMF. Your journey on earth has ended, your health battles are over. You are free to walk around in Heaven. You touched the hearts of everyone you met. Now it's your turn to watch over your family and friends. He was a member of AMVETS Post 57 and Desert Veterans of Wisconsin.

Fellow AMVETS,
I wanted to provide everyone with an update regarding this year’s annual membership cards and an upcoming increase in National dues.
I currently have the annual membership cards and will bring them with me to SEC in September for distribution.
All annual members (Post and members at large) need to be aware of the following:
If annual dues have already been paid, or will be paid online before September 1st, the National dues will remain $15.00, plus the $12.50 Department of Wisconsin dues and whatever additional amount your Post charges.
A $5 increase in National dues was approved at the National Convention and will take effect September 1st.
Beginning September 1st, National dues will increase from $15.00 to $20.00. The Department of Wisconsin dues remain unchanged at $12.50.
Therefore, beginning September 1st, the combined National and Department dues will be $32.50, plus whatever additional amount your Post charges.
Please ensure your members are informed of this upcoming increase so they have the opportunity to renew at the current rate before September 1st.

Members of AMVETS Howard/Suamico Post 57 were honored to present a new American flag to Tony Smullen of Smully's on the Bay at Gaeno Beach in recognition of his continued support of our veterans and the local community. The 10 by 15 foot flag will proudly fly atop the restaurant's 40-foot flagpole, where it will be visible for miles across the bay as a symbol of patriotism and appreciation for those who have served.
