Where Ministry Meets Child Life.

Two things close to my heart came together when I had the privilege of speaking with the incredible moms of Steel Magnolia Moms for their SMART TALK series!

Drawing on my years as a Certified Child Life Specialist, I shared strategies for advocating for adaptive care in the hospital setting, along with ways to help children feel more comfortable, supported, and empowered during medical procedures.

Sometimes, the smallest distractions can make the biggest difference in helping children cope during long wait times or procedures. Thanks to our friends at Lily’s Toy Box each mom went home with their very own distraction bag -generously donated by Lily’s Toy Box! 🧸💕

These bags are more than just toys—they’re tools to help ease anxiety, provide comfort, offer choices, and bring a little joy to what can be a stressful experience.

A heartfelt thank-you to Steel Magnolia Moms for inviting me and to Lily’s Toy Box for helping us place these meaningful tools into the hands of families!

Thank you for joining us for God’s Love: Strength in Faith. It was an amazing, moving, and unforgettable event, and we are deeply grateful to have shared it with you.

Thank you Jeff and Johnny Agar, and Chase and Cash Harris, for sharing your stories, for sharing your strength, your faith and your family with us!

To everyone who was with us, we hope you laughed, cried, and left feeling inspired, reminded that you have gifts to share and that God is with you always.

Their stories, along with the dedication of our families, volunteers, friends, and community partners, continue to inspire our Special Needs Ministry.

What does belonging look like on a Sunday morning? 💛

Sometimes it’s a calm corner in the hallway instead of the classroom.

Sometimes it’s a helping hand during a fine motor activity—or a trusted buddy helping them get to the top of the playground.

Our Sunday Buddies meet children right where they are, offering patience, encouragement, and support as they learn, play, and find their way through the morning.

They adapt to every need and every moment, helping kids feel safe, seen, and truly at home.

Because every child deserves to know: You belong here. Thank you Sunday Buddies for all you do for our kids.
