Hills we will die on as a small dog rescue 💙💚

You can’t help dogs without helping the people who love them. This is why we’d rather wait for the right fit than rush an adoption. It’s why we stand firmly behind our local shelters. And it’s why we’re
honest that loving a dog means vet bills, training, and a lifelong commitment.

But if you’re ready - Adopting a dog is the best thing you’ll ever do!!💙💚

What hill would you die on?

Everyone welcome Becca Sax to the Caro’s Canines Rescue team! We are so excited to have her as the newest addition to our girl gang. Becca is creative, smart and has lots of awesome ideas for upcoming adoption events and fundraisers 💚💙

“Hey y’all! I’m Becca! I’ve always been a biiiiig animal lover from rescuing lizards stuck inside my house as a young child (and still now) to adopting my dog Chicken Nugget as a puppy from the HSPCA. I’ve always known about the overpopulation crisis but after living in NYC and then moving back to Houston I’ve seen just how important it is to play whatever part you can in supporting animal populations.

Other than volunteering at spay/neuter clinics I wanted to give back to the animals that give me so much joy by helping dogs find their forever homes with Caro’s Canines. I’m so excited to serve as the event coordinator to put on some fantastic events benefiting dogs in the Houston area — from adoption to fundraising events, hopefully you’ll join me in sharing the love and helping sweet angels find their forever homes!!”

The news we’ve all been waiting for… CASHEW IS AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION! 💚💙

He’s a 1 year old, 39 lb Boxer mix with the biggest grin, and he’s officially ready for his forever home!

Cashew was dumped at a park and brought to the shelter. Since then he’s gained almost 10 lbs, shown off his goofball personality, and just made it through tibial repair surgery. He’s now cleared for running, jumping, and playing (just no rough wrestling with other dogs for a few more weeks).

He’s smart, food motivated, and loves walks, fetch, and a good pup cup. He’s worked with Good Lead Dog Training • Houston, TX and is making amazing progress, so he’d do best with a family ready to keep that going.

Cashew is in Houston, with transport available to the Northeast, Midwest and Pacific Northwest. Apply at caroscanines.com/adopt 💙

Theres been a lot happening over here! Here’s what you might have missed this past month!

We welcomed 3 new pups, 4 new volunteers/ fosters, and over 2,500 new followers into our little community! We also had 2 amazing adoptions!

Along with spays/neuters/vaccinations and basic care for our newest pups, Cashew underwent tibial repair surgery to address an injury he sustained before being rescued. He is healing so well and in just 2 wks will be fully back to normal!

Lily is also one full week into her board and train program and is thriving! She’s learning how to find her calm and manage those big emotions. We are soo proud of our girls progress.

Behind every number is a dog getting another chance & a community helping make it happen. Thank you for fostering, volunteering, donating, sharing, and cheering our pups on!

Swipe through to see our September recap! 💚💙

🎉 ADOPTION UPDATE 🎉

Odessa found her forever home... and she didn't even have to go far. Her foster parents and sibling fell in love and made it official! 💙💚

This girl came to us as a skinny stray with the most adorable underbite. She learned to trust and began thriving in her foster home. And we all found out she was pretty much perfect.

Now she gets to keep doing all of it with her family!! She's already besties with her new little human sibling, has a built-in jogging partner in mom, and gained a dog sister named Chugs. We recently found out she loves water, too!

So so happy for our very first foster fail and for Odessa to stay in the CCR family 🥰

Meet adoptable Winnie!!

Winnie is a 2 year old Yorkie mix, about 11 lbs, and a total velcro dog. She follows her foster parents everywhere! Belly rubs, all-over rubs, and lap time are her favorite things🥰

Winnie came to us from BARC Animal Shelter in early September as a stray. She was scared, matted, and had ran and hid inside a house when she was picked up. A haircut and a few weeks in foster care later, she's a happy, loving & affectionate girl.

She is friendly to everyone, including kids!! She loves car rides, and on walks she stays close and ignores the neighborhood cats. She's fast and curious, so an avid walker is her match.

She's still working on potty training and getting used to her crate! She uses the yard and puppy pads, and does best with a break every 60 to 90 minutes. Winnie was dog friendly at the shelter. She hasn't been around other dogs in foster yet, so we're still learning how she does with them.

Winnie is heartworm negative and already spayed! She'd do best with a family who's home a lot and will work on alone time with her. 💙💚

Winnie is located in Houston and her adoption fee is $400. Transport is available to the Northeast, Midwest and PNW for an additional $250. Apply to adopt Winnie on our website www.caroscanines.com/adopt
