📦 Turn your workplace into a Power of Pride Collection Site!

There’s still time to get involved in the 7th Annual Chamber Holiday Food & Supply Drive by hosting a collection bin at your business, workplace, or organization.

It’s simple: we provide the branded bin and promotional materials, and you rally your team, customers, members, or community to help fill it with food and essential supplies benefiting Chamber Member Grace Place. 🌈💙

Every filled bin helps support LGBTQ+ youth experiencing homelessness or housing insecurity across Greater Houston, and the more collection sites we have, the greater our impact can be.

📅 Donations come together on November 19, so request your bin now and start collecting!

Can’t host a bin? You can still support the Drive through the Grace Place Amazon Wish List, Virtual Drive, or by helping us spread the word.

📦 Claim your Power of Pride Collection Bin: https://ow.ly/95yQ50ZV6Q0

Let’s see how much our community can collect together!

🕯️ Remembering Matthew Shepard

Today, we honor the life and memory of Matthew Shepard, whose tragic death in 1998 became a defining moment in the fight against anti-LGBTQ+ hate and violence.

We remember Matthew not only for the way his life was taken, but for the lasting legacy his story inspired. His memory continues to remind us of the importance of creating communities rooted in dignity, respect, belonging, and acceptance.

As we remember Matthew, we recommit to building a future where every LGBTQ+ person can live authentically, safely, and without fear.

May his memory continue to inspire compassion and change. 🤍

🎨 Art has the power to connect, inspire, and preserve our stories.

In our latest Nonprofit Member Highlight, we’re shining a spotlight on Chamber Member Galveston Arts Center and its work to make contemporary art accessible to communities across the region.

We sat down with Curator Dennis Nance to talk about GAC’s more than 40 years of connecting artists and audiences, creating welcoming spaces for expression, and engaging with the LGBTQ+ and Allied community.

🌈 Just in time for LGBTQ+ History Month, GAC will open The Fruit Jar, an immersive installation by Houston-based artists Nick Vaughan and Jake Margolin exploring Southeast Texas’s LGBTQIA+ history. Inspired in part by a Galveston gay bar known as the Fruit Jar in 1979, the exhibition will bring local q***r history to life through art, storytelling, and collective memory.

📅 Opening Reception: Saturday, October 10 | 6–9 PM
🎨 Artist Introduction: 6:30 PM
📍 Galveston Arts Center
📅 Symposium: Saturday, October 24

Get to know Galveston Arts Center, Dennis Nance, and the stories behind this exciting exhibition in our latest blog!
