WOW.
When reached out to feature me for 40 Under 40 highlight I didn’t know my interview was going to have a FULL PAGE in the newspaper.

All I can say is, seeing myself and as a platform highlighted in print and on the news is a confirmation to me TO KEEP GOING!

It’s such a beautiful write up, best believe I’m getting my hands on a copies and framing them for family and supporters. For those who have been a part of the Radicalblackgirl tribe from the beginning you know, we not new to this we TRUE to this!

Thank you again for your journalism, your focus on highlighting stories like mine and others making a difference, your storytelling is life changing and you deserve love and recognition. Y’all make sure you follow her and stay up to date with the great work she’s doing as well!

Wassup Radicalblackgirl Tribe? It’s Me, founder Destiny Polk stopping my with a new headshot wearing my OG Radicalblackgirl beret.

For those of you who have been rocking with me for years, thank you. The support I’ve received in my darkest hours strengthened me and brought me through.
For those of you who are new to the tribe, welcome and I look forward to building stronger connections.

The purpose of this post is to say hello to new chapters. Saying a loving goodbye to the me that doesn’t show up for myself. Saying a loving goodbye to treating my own platform like a side project.

A lot of exciting, monumental things are in store and I’m inviting you to continue on this journey with me. Preparing for product and collection drops, events and more media. I’ve always been better at showing than telling, so I’ll be sharing more about all the initiatives I’ve been a part of behind the scenes.

If you are interested in partnering with Radicalblackgirl on future events, media, collaborations, programs, etc. just send a message.

Love,
RBG ✌🏾

Hey Tribe 👋🏾
I’m calling warriors, lovers, builders, strategic thinkers to help me help a sister in need.

This young woman is a 26 year old mother and survivor of domestic abuse. The shelters in her area are at capacity and unable to help her and her children.

As some of you may or may not know, founder is also a survivor of domestic abuse and assault so it’s very important to me that together we can help another young black woman in need.

Immediate need for a hotel room: $150/night which is a pressing but temporary fix.

Let’s help Shaquaya get to $1,500 so she does not have to be displaced with her children and can have a fresh start with stable housing away from violence and abuse.

Allow me to re-introduce myself:

My name is Destiny Polk aka Des Polk, also known as the founder of .

For those of you just meeting me or just getting to know me I am professional dancer of 21 years, a poet, public speaker, educator, author, producer of live multi-media events, fashion designer, community organizer, arts advocate, warrior and above all else a child of The Most High put on this earth to exercise my right to create an inspiring reality of possibility and liberation through creative communion.

I just want to affirm that life is truly a journey, and sometimes I am in awe of all of the many heights I’ve basked in and the dark valleys I’ve survived through. As most Black Women do, I make this s**t look easy.

But shout out to those who are survivors, who have survived abuse (emotional, mental and sexual), oppression, suicidal thoughts, depression, police brutality, political silencing because I have survived all of these things and I’m still here!

I’m still here because The Most High still has work for me to do, because my loved ones rallied and prayed for me in my darkest hour, because my calling outweighed the enemy’s attempt to silence me and keep me numb and invisible.

If you’re new to my page, my platform, my life, welcome to the journey and I hope you stick around for this next chapter.

If you’ve been a part of my tribe, I love you, you’re a huge reason why I’m still going, thank you for rocking with me for years, thank you for helping me take something from vision to reality and I hope you also stay with me as we transform and reintroduce the world to what is really about, because it’s bigger than me. It’s a movement. 👏🏾

is more than a brand, it’s a movement.

If you didn’t know Radicalblackgirl is a National and international network of artists, educators, advocates and change makers, created especially to empower young black artists and them for their work! 👏🏾

Those who have been on this journey since it started in 2016 know that we’ve come a long way from blog posts and or or or our ; shared experiences that impacted many lives.

As Radicalblackgirl branches into fashionable activism (handmade, sustainable, designed and created by an Afro-indigenous art-activist) we just want you to know, a movement wouldn’t exist without the people who keep it moving.

Here’s to expansion! ✊🏾🖤
