The Society of Women Engineers Houston Area Section (SWE HA) that was officially chartered on July 1, 1979 as the 33rd active section as an exempt 501 (c) (3) nonprofit corporation emphasizing as an educational resource and support to help promote Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) for women for the Greater Houston Area. SWE HA empowers women of all ages and diverse cultures t

o successfully achieve in their aspirations, recognized for their life-changing contributions of achievements as leaders in the community. SWE HA aspires to continuously unify science and engineering communities with the support of local corporate sponsors and individual donations to dedicate a social commitment through actively participating all year round through STEM initiatives for K -12 Outreach Events, Academic Scholarships, Awards & Recognition and Continuing Development Programs.
