For those that know our history and humble beginnings, MECA was born out of the St. Joseph’s Fun and Food Fest in 1977. This year the annual festival returns with great food and entertainment. We look forward to celebrating with them this Saturday, from 12 to 10pm, at 1505 Kane Street.

There is something deeply meaningful about gathering to remember the people we love and keeping their memories close 🕯✨

Each year, it is an honor for MECA to welcome families, artists and community members who entrust us with their stories and create ofrendas in memory of those who are no longer with us. Noche de Ofrendas is an evening to slow down, reflect and experience these expressions of love, remembrance and tradition together.

Join us as we officially open our 2026 Ofrendas Exhibition curated by our Cultural Ambassador, Luis Gavito. Walk through our historic hallways and experience 40+ ofrendas honoring loved ones through photographs, flowers, candles, artwork and personal mementos.

Hello friends and family, MECA alumni, Vanessa Alonzo entered a vocal competition called Estrellas del Canto!

Please join us in cheering her on with online comments as that’s how some of the top contestants are selected.

It’s a nation wide competition and the competition is tough! We could use as much support as possible to see our girl thrive.

You can also join us live this Tuesday, September 29, 2026 at Mayito’s Seafood in Stafford, TX!
