Last week, our sisters had the honor to attend the UH Center for Fraternity and Sorority Life’s Night of Celebration where we recognize the accomplishments of the 2023-2024 school year💫We were able to receive the following 4 awards:

Founded in the fall of 1989 at the University of California, Berkeley, and officially recognized by the College Panhellenic Association on February 7, 1990, alpha Kappa Delta Phi was built on a foundation of sisterhood, service, leadership, scholarship, and Asian awareness. 🎓

We honor and thank our fourteen founding sisters—Betty Chu, Karin Co, Susan Kim, Nancy Lee, Sherri Leung, Annie Loo, Belinda Ma, Anita Ng, Serene Ngin, Fannie Pon, Josie Sun, Daisy Wu, Jill Yoshimura, and Reina Yuan—for their dedication to creating a strong and lasting organization. 💜

⊹ ࣪ ˖ 𝙑𝙞𝙤𝙡𝙚𝙣𝙘𝙚 𝘼𝙬𝙖𝙧𝙚𝙣𝙚𝙨𝙨 𝘿𝙖𝙮 ⊹ ࣪ ˖

Every year on January 31st, the sisters of alpha Kappa Delta Phi observe Violence Awareness Day in honor of our beloved sister, Valerie Zavala. This day is dedicated to raising awareness about domestic violence and providing resources for shelters and support. Valerie’s life was tragically taken in an act of sexual assault and murder after she rejected Samuel Puebla’s romantic advances. Her refusal led to a horrific act of violence in which she was assaulted, beaten, and strangled. In her memory and in solidarity against all forms of violence, the Iota Chapter of aKDPhi wears baby blue—Valerie’s favorite color—as a symbol of our ongoing commitment to this cause. 🤍

Our first rush event Rhinestone Painting is TODAY - Monday, January 13th located at UC South Bayou City @ 6:30PM!
Our sisters have waited all winter break for this and we’re super excited to meet you guys. 🐚
