🌲 The Ultimate Test: Survival Camp 2026! 🌲
We just wrapped up an epic weekend that pushed our scouts to the edge of their comfort zones! This wasn't your average campout; it was a high-stakes masterclass in grit, hosted at the Camp Strake primitive sites.
🎖️ Leadership in Action
A massive shout-out to Venturing Crew 1513! The Crew took full ownership of this event—expertly handling the planning, recruiting attendees, and hosting the entire weekend. Their leadership turned a tough challenge into an unforgettable experience.
⛺ Survival of the Fittest
The scouts from Troop 1513 Clear Lake, Texas arrived a supply tin, rope and tarp but quickly realized that out here, skills matter more than gear. To make it through, they had to tackle:
Primitive Shelters: Building their own homes for the night using only what the woods provided.
Minimal Supplies: Learning to do the most with the absolute least—no "glamping" allowed!
Day-Long Challenges: Mental and physical tests were thrown at them throughout the day to keep them on their toes.
👕 Earning the Colors
It wasn't easy, but it was worth it. We are proud to announce that the Troop 1513 scouts didn't just endure—they thrived! By conquering the elements and the Crew's challenges, they officially earned the infamous Survival Camp shirts. In this Troop, that shirt isn't just clothing; it’s a badge of honor.
