Politically, we believe that the success of the Republic depends on well-informed citizens. Our focus is on educating professionals for involvement in politics or public policy as good citizens, voters, campaigners, or candidates. Philosophically, we promote public policies based on the principles of free enterprise, limited government, individual freedom, traditional American values, and a strong
national defense. Bellwether Forum is a non-profit, non-partisan educational organization, recognized as tax-exempt under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. We do not support or oppose specific legislation or candidates for public office. Our programs are open the public. Bellwether Forum Educational Seminars
Educational seminars about politics and public policy are a major part of Bellwether Forum’s programs. Through these seminars, we aim to help produce good citizens, advocates, and elected officials by offering educational seminars and programs
Political Training Seminars
You can enroll in a government or political science course at almost any college or university in Houston and learn about theory. You can attend numerous political events where you will hear stump speeches. Or, you can participate in a public policy organization’s event where you will be pressured to donate hundreds or thousands of dollars. But, unlike any other program in Houston, Bellwether Forum’s political training seminars unveil the mystery of politics, providing practical “how to” advice, strategy, and techniques that you can apply immediately. Many people are interested in government and politics, but do not know how to get started or are turned off by what they see. That’s why our classes start from the ground up, giving you the information and insider “know how” that you need to succeed. You can start today by enrolling in our acclaimed Politics 101 seminar. Also be sure to watch the schedule for our Campaign and Candidate seminar, and other political offerings. Policy Seminars
Political skills are ideologically neutral. Fundraising, developing a message, and targeting voters, for example, are skills that conservatives, liberals, or libertarians can equally apply to their campaigns. Therefore, Bellwether Forum offers policy seminars to help leaders develop their ideology, such that they can use their political skills to promote specific public policies. In our seminars, policy experts present both sides, and feature lively discussion, so participants can develop their views based on all the facts. Our policy seminars start with Policy Fundamentals, which provides and overview of eight of the most discussed and debated current public policy issues. Watch the schedule for other, more in-depth policy seminars, like Basic Economics for Candidates. Emerging Democracies Program
Bellwether Forum has active dialogue with center-right parties in emerging democracies like Mongolia and Poland. Our faculty has traveled to Ulaanbaatar and Warsaw to conduct special educational programs, which were live translated into Mongolian and Polish.
