Thank you to writer Lise Olsen for this splendid story in the Texas Observer detailing Rich Levy’s time and tenure as the longtime Executive Director of Inprint! After 31 years, Rich hosted his last Inprint Margarett Root Brown Reading on May 4 and retires this summer. Enjoy Rich’s stories of Inprint's history, growth, and accomplishments—and memories of great writers he’s brought to Houston—in this wonderful article! Cheers to Rich and to his legacy on the Houston literary scene!

Rich Levy, the man behind the Bayou City’s prestigious reading series and the brains behind Inprint, an unusual literary nonprofit, is retiring.

It’s been an amazing season of great writers and literary camaraderie! Thank you to poet brittny ray crowell and novelist Nina McConigley—former Inprint Prize winners and UH Creative Writing Program alums—for a remarkable May 4th reading to cap off the 25/26 Inprint Margarett Root Brown Reading Series! brittny read movingly from CORD SWELL, her new poetry collection that interweaves original mixed-media collages. And Nina shared the piercing opening from her new novel HOW TO COMMIT A POSTCOLONIAL MURDER. Both sat down for a thoughtful, lively conversation with poet and novelist Kevin Prufer. A heartfelt thanks to everyone who joined us for this special season finale—and for toasting our longtime Executive Director Rich Levy, who retires this summer after 31 years with Inprint!
