After nearly three decades, one Maryland county has changed how it treats dogs labeled “dangerous.”

Prince George’s County has repealed its 27-year ban on so-called “pit bull”–type dogs, replacing breed-specific rules with behavior-based regulations. The change means dogs will no longer be restricted or removed based on appearance alone.

County officials say the update aligns local law with modern animal welfare standards and opens the door for more dogs to remain with families or enter adoption programs.

We are still trying to help save Eros life but we need your support. Eros is 9 months old and has to get a surgery after falling from some stairs and braking his hips. Eros is not doing well, he is in pain and is urinating blood as his bladder was also affected. Eros mom is trying to do everything she can to save him but if funds for his surgery are not raised then he’ll need to be put down to stop his suffering.

🚨donations needed🚨

Eros is a 9 month old puppy who is in desperate need of donations. This cutie is super loving and sweet, but unfortunately his life is at risk. Eros fell down some stairs and unfortunately broke his hips. This cutie has been hospitalized since yesterday and the bills just keep adding up, if he doesn’t get the surgery he needs he will need to be put down to stop his suffering. We know Eros and his mommy and we know they are both suffering. His mommy has done everything to pay for his current bill but hip surgery is not cheap and she’s a young girl trying to do the best she can. Please, please donate towards Aros surgery, he is just a baby full of life and deserves to live.

Please, please consider helping Iris. She needs a hero by tomorrow. Iris is very sweet, however she needs an active family that will give her lots of structure. Iris is about 1 year old and was found as a stray a few months ago. This cutie found a family to love her and care for her, however things are just not working out.

Iris needs a foster today 🙏🙏

Unfortunately, Iris family can’t keep her any longer and she’ll be heading to the shelter today. We truly want to help Iris but we need a foster in order to do so. Her family has gone above and beyond for her but due to her behavioral issues they can’t keep her any longer. Iris needs an active family, a family that will give her structure, and be patience with her. Iris does okay with other dogs but due to her energy level she’ll do better as an only dog or with a dog that’s also very active. Iris likes kids but she’ll do best in a home with kids over the age of 6 since she’s so active and doesn’t like people come near her food.
