Monday, October 5 is the deadline for the Nov. 3 election. Miss it and you can’t vote.

🏛️ IN PERSON: Take your signed application to your county tax office or voter registrar before it closes TODAY.

📬 BY MAIL: Your application must be postmarked TODAY. Go to a post office counter and ask for a postmark dated Oct. 5.

Not sure you’re registered? Check at votetexas.gov.
County office locations for Harris, Fort Bend, Montgomery, Brazoria and Galveston:

•Harris County: hctax.net (branch locations are on the homepage)

•Galveston County: galvestoncountytx.gov/our-county/tax-assessor-collector/voter-registration

•Fort Bend, Montgomery, Brazoria and other counties: the Texas Secretary of State’s county registrar directory at sos.state.tx.us/elections/voter/votregduties.shtml. Some counties use an elections office as the registrar instead of the tax office, so this directory is the safest single link.

•Check registration status: votetexas.gov

After today: early voting is Oct. 19–30, the mail ballot request deadline is Oct. 23, and Election Day is Nov. 3.

Cracking the Code, this past weekend.

A room full of high school seniors and college students, and a panel of people who do the work — engineers, insiders, recruiters who screen résumés for a living. The questions from the floor were sharper than the ones we planned for. Here’s what stayed with us: the students leaning in weren’t asking what tech pays. They were asking what to learn next.

So in late January we’re running it back with hands on keyboards — [workshop / build session / hackathon]. A panel opens the door. Practice walks you through it.

Cedric Hudnall is a U.S. Army veteran, healthcare leader, and entrepreneur with expertise in financial operations, procurement strategy, business intelligence, and data-driven decision-making. He serves in leadership at Texas Children’s Hospital and is co-owner and Chief Financial Officer of Total Wellness Assessment & Counseling, where he provides strategic financial and operational oversight. Cedric holds an MBA in Business Intelligence.

He’s a committed servant leader — a member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. and the NAACP, and he serves as the Fathers’ Auxiliary Leader for the Greater Channel Chapter of Jack and Jill of America, Inc.

Cedric is excited to join our Mentoring & Development Committee, focused on leadership, impact, and legacy.

A devoted husband and father of five, Cedric leads with family, faith, and service at the core.

Welcome, Terence Williams (Terence Williams)

Terence is a graduate of the University of Louisville with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. He joined NASA right out of college as a flight controller for the International Space Station (ISS), training astronauts to live in space and operate and troubleshoot ISS systems, while supporting them from Mission Control.

Over the years, Terence has held increasing levels of responsibility, now serving as Deputy Chief of the Safety and Test Operations Division, where his team’s goal is to ensure mission success through proactive risk management and operational excellence.

Terence is excited to join our Mentoring Committee, focused on leadership, impact, and legacy.

Welcome to the 100! 🏆

Join us in welcoming Curtis Outlaw — one of 8 outstanding new members joining 100 Black Men of Metropolitan Houston in our 2026 class.

Curtis is a Disaster Recovery and Emergency Management professional with experience spanning local, state, federal government, and the private sector. He’s a graduate of Shaw University — the oldest historically Black college founded in the southern United States — and NYU’s Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Service, where he studied public policy and governance.

He currently serves as a Strategy and Transformation Senior Consultant with Guidehouse, where he strengthens regional disaster resilience nationwide. Curtis acts as FEMA’s principal point of contact for private sector partners across multiple states and U.S. territories, aligning private sector capabilities with federal priorities during complex, high-stakes incidents.

Curtis is excited to join our Mentoring & Development Committee, focused on leadership, impact, and legacy.

At the Greater Houston Partnership, she leads the region’s first business-led initiative helping 100+ organizations build inclusive workplaces and open doors for small businesses. Outside of that, she’s quietly reshaping how Houston gives — founding SeedSwell and Black Philanthropy Houston to connect donors with the causes that need them most, and researching the giving patterns of Houston women and Black donors in ways that are changing how this city thinks about philanthropy.

A fifth-generation Texan and lifelong Houstonian, LaTanya has spent her career proving that opportunity multiplies when people choose to build together.

The 100 Black Men of Metropolitan Houston, Inc. is proud to honor Third Ward Little League with the 2026 Stephen & Sterling Carter Health & Wellness Award at our Legacy in Bloom Gala! 🏆

In just their inaugural season, Third Ward Little League welcomed 125+ young athletes, powered by nearly 70 volunteers — creating a place where Houston’s children can build confidence, discipline, teamwork and community.
