Friends of Woodland Park

Friends of Woodland Park Restoration of Woodland Park, a natural gem set in the shadow of downtown. Woodland Park is one of Houston's oldest parks.

Originally designed by the Houston Electric Co. as a destination park for 'Sunday Outings', it featured boats, water activities, and a pavilion for dancing and dining. It is now home to an active community center and a wooded retreat surrounding Little White Oak Bayou. Standing on the banks of the water one can always enjoy birdsong, turtle and fish spotting as well as the occasional beaver and ga

tor!). The Friends of Woodland Park are endeavoring to restore the woods to native species, put trails through-out and provide a safe and satisfying place for families, walkers and bike riders.
