This state-wide cycling network is a dream at the moment, building on some existing trails. We are trying to find out how to encourage this into reality. Within our area in Houston, it seems that the Brays Bayou Greenway Trail and Keegans Bayou are represented as part of a "connecting spur". Unfortunately, the Keegans Bayou Trail currently ends at Kirkwood, and this connecting spur is shown as jumping to W Belfort and going west.
We're advocating for continuing west along Keegans Bayou into Fort Bend Co and ultimately connect to an E-W Centerpoint right-of-way. That first application didn't succeed, and so we'll try again, and again.

Did you know there is a bicycle tourism trail network planned for Texas? The future connection of tourism bikeways will provide recreational and travel opportunities for local Texans who enjoy casual rides, alternative routes to work and school, or even some cycling adventure.
