Soccer excitement is in the air across Houston, and the ECHOS team is joining the celebration this summer!

As Houston welcomes an exciting season of international soccer, our staff shares the energy, the friendly competition, and the joy that brings families and neighbors together.

This summer is especially meaningful for our team because one of our staff members was selected to volunteer during the international soccer event in Houston. We are excited to celebrate this special opportunity and the many ways Houston is coming together around the sport.

At ECHOS, we value the connections that strengthen our community.

Which team are you cheering for this summer? Share your team in the comments!

ECHOS helps Houston families find stability through real, practical support, and community partners keep this work strong. Learn how to support: https://echoshouston.org/support-echos/

In 2025, ECHOS served 4,964 individuals from 1,587 unique households. ๐Ÿ’™ That impact shows up in the moments that matter, food on the table, paperwork completed, and families staying in their homes.

In 2025, 6,014 individuals received food support, including H-E-B food-only gift cards. We also completed 2,455 benefits applications (Medicaid, SNAP, CHIP) and helped 1,066 individuals remain safely housed through rent and utility assistance.

Corporate and community partners play a powerful role in this work. If your organization is looking for a trusted local way to support families, we invite you to stand with ECHOS.

Cataract Awareness Month reminder: coverage can protect the ability to manage daily life. Donate to ECHOS to help more neighbors get connected to care.

More than 20 million Americans age 40 and older have cataracts, including people who are working, driving, caregiving, raising families, and doing their best to stay on track.

With coverage, cataract surgery can be scheduled, with a doctor, a plan, and a clear next step.

Without coverage, the same treatable condition can create daily risks: trouble reading forms or medication labels, missed work, unsafe driving, fear of falling, and waiting because care feels out of reach.

The difference is not medical possibility. The difference is access, and that is why ECHOSโ€™ work matters.

June is Cataracts Awareness Month, and your donation helps people get the benefits and care they need.

Cataracts are a leading cause of vision loss, but too many people delay care because the healthcare system can feel overwhelming. ECHOS helps make the path clearer.

We support individuals and families as they apply for healthcare benefits they may qualify for, work through the application and paperwork, and understand what comes next. Then we connect them to trusted healthcare providers. It is practical help, paired with real human support, every step of the way.

Your gift fuels that connection, so more people can take the next step toward better health and better vision.

๐Ÿ™Œ Volunteers bring the energy that keeps ECHOS moving, and we need more helping hands. Ready to jump in and make a real difference this week? ๐Ÿ’™

Volunteer with ECHOS and be the friendly support families count on. Help clients get started with forms, support kids in the waiting area, and assist with appointments, clothing pickups through Clothed By Faith, and our computer lab for scanning, printing, and resume help. ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ“‹๐Ÿ“š๐Ÿ–จ๏ธ

No time during business hours or volunteering as a student? You can still create impact by hosting a diaper drive or childrenโ€™s book drive ๐Ÿงท๐Ÿ“–, or by donating select childrenโ€™s items or housewares to support a specific client family ๐Ÿงธ๐Ÿ .

Want in? ๐Ÿ“ž Contact Cathy Moore at 713-270-0369 to learn more about volunteering for ECHOS.

Be part of the connection, donate to help ECHOS serve families in need across our community.

Since 2001, families have been coming to ECHOS to get connected to health care services and benefits coverage, plus trusted guidance on where to turn next. Many of the families we serve are navigating real-life challenges like unemployment, low income, limited access to health care, language challenges, little to no transportation, and gaps in education or literacy.

When you give to ECHOS, you help keep these connections possible. Your support helps our team meet families with compassion, share clear information, and connect them to resources that support health, stability, and self-sufficiency.

If you want to make a difference close to home, please consider donating today.
