What an extraordinary year for the Houston City College Foundation!
On Wednesday, August 19, Chancellor Dr. Margaret Ford Fisher and the HCC Board of Trustees recognized the HCC Foundation Staff for our fundraising achievements and our role as a strategic partner in advancing Houston City Collegeโ€™s Future Forward vision.

Over the past eight years, annual fundraising has grown from $2.7 million to $15.5 million this fiscal year. Growth made possible by an incredible team, a committed HCC Foundation Board, strong partnership across HCC, and the generosity of our philanthropic community.

We are grateful for the recognition. We are even more excited about what comes next as we continue taking philanthropy to the next level for HCC and our students.

Through the Studio Experience for Emerging Designers (SEED), students, faculty, and staff had the opportunity to attend FAB26 in Boston, connect with innovators from around the world, and showcase their work on an international stage.
Congratulations to Donaldo Almazan, Clariza Reyes, and the entire SEED community! Weโ€™re excited to see this program continue to grow and create even more opportunities for HCC students.

Transforming lives through philanthropy! We are proud to announce that the Houston City College Foundation has secured a $1 million Lowe's Foundation Gable Grant to expand skilled trades education at Houston City College, creating pathways to high-demand careers for hundreds of students. We are thrilled with this opportunity to impact so many!

Houston City College (HCC) is proud to be one of only 10 community colleges nationwide selected to receive a Loweโ€™s Foundation Gable Grant.

The $1 million investment will expand skilled trades education in electrical, carpentry, construction, HVAC and plumbing while supporting scholarships, instructor capacity, employer-connected learning experiences and student success initiatives.

This recognition reflects HCCโ€™s commitment to build strong workforce pathways and ensure students have access to the skills, credentials and experiences needed to thrive in todayโ€™s economy. Through industry partnerships and investments like this, HCC is preparing Houstonโ€™s next generation of skilled professionals.

The Houston City College Foundation proudly recognized Past Chair Ryan F. McCauley for nine years of dedicated serviceโ€”including two impactful years as Chairโ€”with a special proclamation at the April 15, 2026, HCC Board of Trustees meeting.

During his tenure, Ryan helped lead a period of remarkable growth, including the successful completion of the โ€œInvest in Houstonโ€™s Futureโ€ campaign 16 months ahead of scheduleโ€”creating lasting opportunities for students across our community. His leadership also contributed to record-setting annual fundraising and strengthened support for our mission.

We are also grateful to Ryan and his wife, Jessica McCauley, for their service as Gala Co-Chairs of the HCC Foundation Gold Gala in 2020 and the HCC Foundation Gala Celebration in 2022, helping make these celebrations both meaningful and successful.
