Why Nonprofits Should Get SEO Audits

SEO audits can be the key to understanding if your website is on the right track to being found in search results. Our suggestion is to get more than one SEO audit. This way you can compare notes between the different SEO audits and create a plan on how to tackle those issues.

When Choosing a Website Builder, Consider cost and scalability.

Budget is often a significant consideration for nonprofit organizations. While there are free website builders available, they may come with limitations and may not provide the level of customization and functionality your nonprofit requires. Assess your budget and opt for a website builder that offers reasonable pricing plans or discounted rates for nonprofits. Additionally, consider the scalability aspect. Choose a builder that allows your website to grow alongside your organization. .

Before You Build or Redesign Your Nonprofit’s Website

It’s essential to clearly define your nonprofit’s website goals and requirements. Consider what you want to achieve with your website: Is it to share information about your organization’s mission? Is it to collect donations or recruit volunteers? Understanding your goals will help you identify the features and functionalities you need in a website.

The Benefits of Google Ads for Nonprofits

Raise Awareness: Just like any brand, nonprofits benefit from visibility. By placing your message at the top of search results, you’re directly putting your cause in front of those searching for it.

Drive Actions: From increasing newsletter signups, and recruiting more followers on social platforms, to driving event registrations, Google Ads help achieve tangible goals.

Establish Credibility: Being visible on Google’s search results, especially for relevant queries, lends credibility and boosts your brand’s awareness.

So, if you’re looking to improve brand consistency start with these 3 tips.

1. Build a Brand Guide

If you don’t have a brand guide we encourage you to build one as soon as possible. You need a way to quickly reference the elements and rules of your brand.

The guide doesn’t have to be elaborate. It only needs to cover the following:

Logo Usage

Colors (and color codes)

Fonts

2. Review Social Platforms

We recommend taking a few minutes to review all of your social media platforms (after you’ve got your brand guide in hand). Look for visual inconsistencies and note them down. Then set a schedule to go through each account and make sure everything is updated to meet the standards of your brand guide.

Also, set yourself a reminder to review your social media accounts every 3 – 6 months. This will ensure your accounts are never too out of date.

3. Review Website Home Page

This is similar to reviewing your social media accounts, but you would be surprised how many non-profits forget to update their website. The home page of your website is often one of the most trafficked pages on the site (if not the most trafficked).

Who’s your ideal donor? How would you describe them?

If you’re like most you’ll start with the demographics:

Age

Occupation

Where they live

What is their income level

While those are great, none of them help you understand why they become a donor and why they’re ideal for your non-profit.

So, instead, start to build out the psychographic information:

What are their values?

Where else do they donate their time and money?

Why do they feel compelled to donate to your cause?

What change are they looking to make in the world?

Where do they engage with you the most (phone, social media, website, etc)?

The answers to those questions will help you build a brand that resonates with those donors.
