At MBK Houston, we're focused on building stronger communities by supporting youth with opportunities including mentorship, education, and pathways to success through collective impact. In September 2014, the City of Houston accepted the White House's My Brother's Keeper Community Challenge to develop a Local Action Plan to address the opportunity gaps for boys and young men of color. Together, wi
th partners from nonprofit, government, private industry, faith-based, and community leaders, we're redefining what it means to grow up in Houston. Director Stephen Williams of the Houston Department of Health and Human Services was appointed to lead the local efforts to lay the groundwork for an MBK Community. Together with many local partners, we are building the framework of evidence-based practices and community resources to lift up all our young people to have more opportunities for success.
