FAQs
Can I attend if I am not a current patient of the Lactation Foundation?
Sure! You do not need to be a Lactation Foundation patient to attend.
What does it cost to attend?
Nothing. Our support groups are completely FREE.
When is the support group and where is it located?
The support group is every Tuesday from 10-11:30 am. We host the group in the conference room on the 6th floor of our office building at 2636 S Loop W, Houston, TX 77054. If the Lactation Foundation is closed, the support group will not meet. Our operating schedule is located at go.uth.edu/LFhrs
What do I need to bring?
Just yourself. Most attendees bring their babies, but you can come alone if you prefer. We have breastfeeding pillows available. Feel free to bring any additional equipment you may need to feed your baby.
What do I do if I need to pump?
You are welcome to pump during the group. If you prefer privacy, we have private space available that you can use.
Why should I attend?
Our support group is a great place to meet other people who are breastfeeding and parenting newborns and infants. The group is facilitated by a Lactation Foundation staff member. We do not have a set topic for meetings. Instead, we focus on issues or questions presented by attendees. We love to celebrate progress, milestones, and big wins among our regular attendees.
Note: We can troubleshoot minor breastfeeding problems at the support group, but it is not meant to be one-on-one, in-depth support. If you are having significant challenges, you may be better served by having an appointment at the Lactation Foundation prior to attending the group.
